China news agency, New York, July 9 (Reporter Li Yang) Large-scale U.S. surveillance planner Snowden revealed on the 9th through his lawyer that he sought to continue asylum in Russia. In the meantime, Snowden is still disclosing more of the inside story of the U.S. surveillance program.

Snowden's lawyer Coucherna discloses that Snowden has applied to the Russian immigration authorities to extend his stay in Russia. However, he did not say exactly how long Mr. Snowden extended the stay, and whether he will change his asylum status.

Snowden received a one-year temporary asylum permit from Russia last August, allowing him to move around in Russia. However, his "temporary asylum permit" will expire on July 31 this year, so his visit once again raised the widespread concern of the outside world.

Snowden had previously shown his willingness to stay in Russia, but also revealed the conditions for his return to the United States. However, U.S. officials still repeatedly reiterated that Snowden will face judicial proceedings when returning to China.

For a long time, with Snowden, an independent media station where former Guardian reporter Greenwald published a large number of U.S. surveillance plans published an article on the 9th that revealed the latest inside-control of the U.S. intelligence service. It is generally believed that the source of information still comes from Snowden.

The latest insider disclosures show that the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and the FBI have jointly monitored five well-known U.S. Muslims for their e-mail. The five include lawyers, Republican officials, university professors and civil rights activists.

The article even announced the specific identity of these five people. Some analysts believe that this continues to illustrate that U.S. intelligence agencies not only monitor foreign countries but also their own citizens. Both the U.S. Department of Justice and intelligence agencies declined to comment on the news. (Finish)
