Sina Science and technology news Beijing time of October 4, Symantec Tuesday survey results showed that there are not too many organizations such as the use of cloud computing technology, but the use of cloud computing technology companies and other organizations most of the impact of cloud computing is disappointed. According to the survey, less than 1/5 of enterprises, such as companies, are outsourcing applications to cloud computing service providers. 2/3 of respondents said they were at the beginning of the discussion or were experimenting, or did not consider turning to cloud computing. Many companies want cloud services providers such as Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce, Google and Rackspace to help them expand, without having to install expensive hardware and software locally. Forrester, a research firm, predicts that by 2014 the global Cloud computing market will grow from $41 billion trillion this year to $241 billion trillion. However, Symantec found that while organizations such as 3/4 are already using some cloud computing services, such as backup, storage, and information security, the bulk of the business is still under discussion and not acted on in the outsourcing of applications. Symantec said: "Despite the changing computer technology, most of the changes are small, do not need to change the core of the organization of work." But cloud computing is not. Cloud computing requires organizations to change how it is run. Symantec found that information security is the most important concern for organizations such as companies when using cloud computing technology. More than half of the respondents feared malware intrusion, data being hacked, or insiders leaking sensitive information. Most respondents also said they hoped that the deployment of cloud computing technology would eventually improve, or at least not affect the current information security situation. Symantec says the immaturity of the cloud computing market means there are differences in the expected and actual results of the deployment of cloud computing technologies, such as in it agility, disaster recovery, efficiency, cost, and security. From April 2011 to June, Symantec conducted a telephone survey of several companies of various sizes in 38 countries. Share to:
