BEIJING, March 25 (Xinhua) The latest data from the Ministry of Commerce showed that the trade volume of the mainland and Hong Kong amounted to $25.31 billion in January-February this year, up 24.6%. In the first two months of this year, the mainland exported more than $23.79 billion to Hong Kong, an increase of 22.9% per cent, and an increase of more than $1.51 billion from Hong Kong to 57.1%. Over the same period, the mainland approved Hong Kong businessmen 1417 investment projects, an increase of 44.8% per cent, the actual use of HK $7.2 billion, up 51.4%. As at the end of February 2010, the mainland had approved a total of 310,738 Hong Kong-funded projects and actually used HK $402.85 billion. According to the actual use of foreign capital statistics, Hong Kong's investment in the mainland accounted for 42% of the cumulative absorption of overseas investments. Data show that in January-February, the number of contracts contracted in Hong Kong, Labor cooperation and design consultation in the mainland amounted to 302, with a contract amount of USD 320 million and a turnover of USD 230 million. By the end of February 2010, the mainland had completed a total turnover of HK $38.01 billion.
