Verizon Water test Micro-server program AMD received large orders

After the acquisition of Seamicro, AMD spent half a year in product development, and then released the SM15000 programmable hardware platform. The platform can achieve Opteron 6300, Xeon e3-1260l, Atom and other chips between the docking, so the size of the server is no longer need to be constrained, for the characteristics of high-density micro-server development paved the way.

Through the SM15000 chip, AMD implemented 10 cabinets to deploy 512 compute nodes, 5TB memory and 1.28TB Freedom Fiber. The next step is to collaborate with the partner Verizon, the two sides have jointly developed a software and hardware platform, and targeted to do the optimization. Verizon, for example, customizes virtualization, storage, network management, and security.
