However, I feel that I should keep myself diligent and try to write something. Fortunately, there is an SAP classification in the blog Park, so it won't make your text too different.

Long-winded and long-winded words before the beginning of the text

Strictly speaking, unless you want to use basis, installing sap is not a necessary condition for learning sap, but learning sap requires an environment where you can log on and use it at any time, in this way, I turned back like chelaile. Therefore, I want to install sap as an integral part of learning sap, because I want to find an SAP environment that can be logged in at any time, and I am still confused, it seems that the only choice is to install one by yourself.

Installing an SAP environment is actually more difficult than learning a module. Especially for the masses who are familiar with m$ products, installing sap is simply a torment, this is why I want to write this series of essays, because the installation process of a software is usually very technical, and many step by step installation instructions can be found on the Internet, however, if you want to learn more about "why" by installing sap, rather than simply knowing "How to do it" on the Internet, you should be able to gain some benefits from this.

By the way, the hardware environment required to run an SAP system is not low, but in this age hard disks and memory are already cheaper than cabbage. What else can we complain about.

Body: hardware preparation

CPU:Supports x64 CPU. As long as the CPU is not too old, it usually supports 64-bit, 32-bit CPU can only install 32-bit operating system, in the 32-bit operating system, only sap's dialog instance can be installed. This is not what we want. We need to install the complete sap ecc6 environment.

Memory:Basically, the bigger the better, the more memory the sap needs. In fact, even a 1 GB memory machine can be installed and run. As for the SAP system that was originally very warm, you can't afford the speed on a small memory machine. It's another thing. But in any case, in the age of memory cabbage price, you can boldly add memory. I personally suggest a minimum of 4 GB, the more the better.

System Disk:The system disk should be allocated at least 40 Gb. After the operating system is installed, Java must be installed on disk C (which does not require much disk space), but a lot of disk space is required for page file, generally, the system disk is full.

SAP software Disk:As a good habit, in addition to the operating system, all the other disks are packed in another partition. This partition has a minimum of 250 GB, and 320 GB is recommended. Fortunately, the hard disk is cheaper than the memory.

About virtual machines:I personally do not recommend using virtual machines. Because a 64-bit operating system is required, the CPU must support virtual technologies to be installed in virtual machines. In addition, the performance of virtual machines is not flattering, running such a large piece of software in a virtual machine is really a pain point.

Body: Operating System

In view of the popularity of windows, we will not talk about the Unix of the spring snow and how to compress Linux. It is vulgar, even if it is good to install in windows, you don't need other operating systems to make it worse.

1. We strongly recommend that you use Windows server. Although it is also supported by XP (x64 version), it is almost 2012. It is really unnecessary to use XP. The operating system can use any of the following server versions (Windows 2003/2003 R2/2008/20008 R2), but it must be a 64-bit version, only 64-bit operating systems can use memory larger than 4 GB, otherwise the memory you bought earlier will be wasted.

2. After installing all the patches and upgrading to the latest sp, remember to make a full backup of the system image. You may be able to use it more than 80%. If you need to recover it, press F8 at startup, select repair system, and then overwrite the entire c disk to restore to a clean system.

How to back up and restore data should be pediatrics for everyone. In addition, remember to activate your windows. I have a lot of information on the Internet and check it myself.

3. Adjust the page file size. for the installation of the central instance, You need to [physical memory capacity + 14 GB] as the estimated virtual memory size. Note that it is not a total of 14 GB, but that, the size of the virtual memory file = physical memory + 14 GB. the actual size of the file can be viewed in the system detection tool. Unfortunately, even if you have a large amount of physical memory, the virtual memory can only be set to 20 GB at the maximum, which is the limitation of the Windows system.

If you have psychological barriers to dividing such a large virtual memory, you can install and run it by just a few Gbit/s. It is said that the memory of Daxian is running the same way as that of 4 GB virtual memory, however, why can't you go through it? Hard Disks are cheaper than memory.

4. It is very important and very simple. Please change the computer name to sapecc6. This is not necessary, but it will save a lot of trouble. The details will be explained later.

5. Shut down UAC, firewall, anti-virus software, and other things that may interrupt installation. It takes a long time to install sap. In the middle, you are likely to sleep, I don't think you want to wake up and see a prompt window that requires you to click "OK.

6. Other things you may need to know

1. SAP cannot be installed on Domain Controller. Don't ask why or not. If you don't know what domain controller is, congratulations, you don't have to worry about it.

2. The system detection tool of SAP does not correctly recognize windows 2008/R2. Therefore, an error (red) is reported in the detection result, so ignore it, others are best guaranteed to meet the detection requirements (normal white), and the virtual memory can be slightly smaller (yellow alarm)

Because of the too many previous articles, it may take a long time to write this article. In general, few people are willing to read this article. This is not the result I want, so I decided to put the second half in the second article.
