115 patches are required to fix the Android Stagefright Bug

On June 23, last July, security researchers disclosed the Android Bug known as Stagefright. The vulnerability exists in the code library that processes media formats. It allows attackers to control the target mobile phone using special MMS messages, the master operation is not required throughout the process. Security researchers initially estimated that up to 1 billion of devices were affected by the vulnerability. The process of fixing this vulnerability is more complex than expected. Google has released up to 115 patches over the past year to fix bugs in Stagefright and related media libraries. Joshua Drake, the first researcher to discover the Stagefright Bug, did not expect that it would take a year to fix the Bug and it would take so much effort. In view of the Android fragmentation ecosystem, a large number of Android devices may be patched. Drake believes that this vulnerability can be used to launch targeted attacks on unrepaired devices.
