With the development of wireless networks, more and more companies and enterprises have begun to deploy wireless LAN. Today we will mainly introduce the wireless router bridging or WDS functions suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises. This article takes TP-link WR841N wireless router configuration as an example. For other routers, refer to the setting methods.

The figure shows A small enterprise wireless network. If only one wireless router is used in Department A, Department B, and Department C, some computers may find weak signals or cannot find signals, as a result, the wireless network cannot be connected. Solution: Department A, Department B, and Department C connect to A wireless router. The three wireless routers can achieve perfect coverage and eliminate blind spots in the entire region through WDS connection.

Configuration philosophy: as A central wireless router, wireless router A and router C establish a wds connection with wireless router B.

  The procedure is as follows:

For basic settings of wireless routers, see tp link wireless router settings.

  1. Central wireless router B (source router) settings

1. log on to the wireless router settings B management interface, and set"SSID (used for later identification)","Channel (to be matched later)",

2.Wireless Settings"--"Wireless Security SettingsSet wireless signal encryption information

3. Record the SSID, channel, and encryption settings After configuring wireless router B, and apply the settings in subsequent configurations of wireless router A and router C.

  Ii. Configure wireless router.

1. Modify the IP address of the LAN port (used to query the information of router ). In Network Parameter-LAN port settings, modify the IP address to be different from that of router B (to prevent IP address conflicts), such as 192.168.1.2, save, and the router restarts automatically.

2. Enable WDS (Wireless Distributed System ). After the restart, log on to wireless router A with the changed IP address of the LAN port, and select"Enable WDS".Note that the SSID here is different from that of router B. Of course, you can also set the SSID to the same, so that you can roam within the coverage of the three routers, that is to say, as long as you connect to the Internet at will within this range, you can also access the Internet at another point within this range without reconnecting, it is easy to re-enter the SSID, that is, the three routers form the same big network.

3. WDS settings. Click"Scan (find the SSID of vrob B)", Search for wireless signals.

4. In the scanned signal list, select the router B ssid number, such as the TP-LINK_841_ B, click"Connection".

5. Set the channel to be the same as that of router B.

6. Set the encryption information to be the same as that of router B.Save".

7. Disable the DHCP server (after it is disabled, the computer cannot automatically obtain the ip address). On the DHCP server, select"Disable","Save", Restart the router.

8. The configuration of wireless router A is complete. At this time, wireless router A and wireless router B have successfully established WDS.

3. Configure wireless router C. The configuration method is the same as that of router (The IP address must be different from router A, router B, and other computers in the network. Otherwise, the IP address may conflict and the computer cannot access the Internet.).
If you have any questions, please refer to this article and it will also help you solve the problem that the router bridge (WDS) cannot access the Internet from the secondary route (B route, Slave Route) (DHCP settings)
