Windows operating system in this area provides a wealth of features, perhaps busy work you have not found these useful features, below, let us one by one to show you, there are always some for you!

1, protect the password

Even if you trust your friends, you should cut the cards when you play cards together. In the same way, even if you have confidence in your own memory, it is a good idea to save a startup disk with a password so that you can have a convenient solution if you forget your password. The specific procedure is, first, to find a well formatted blank floppy disk, then type "Control Panel/user account" In any Explorer window or the IE window's address bar and return, select your account in the User Account window, and click "Block a forgotten password" in the relevant task list. Then follow the instructions in the Forgotten Password Wizard.

2, bypassing the forgotten password

If you do not prepare a startup disk with a password, and then log in with a different admin-level account, open the User Account Setup screen in the 16th article, select the account that has forgotten the password, click "Change Password", and then follow the prompts to reset the new password.

If you cannot log on with another administrator-level user name, restart your computer, and then press the "F8" key when the Windows startup flag appears, and enter the Windows Startup options interface. Use the up and down keys to move to Safe mode and press ENTER. When you see the Welcome interface, select the administrator (this is a hidden account, and the default does not require any password), the next action and 17th described in the same way, reset the account password, and finally restart the computer.

3. Become a Power User

In the Chinese version of Windows 2000, it is called a user with high permissions. When you log on to the system as an administrator user, your system is vulnerable to malicious programs such as Trojan horses. When you log on to a system with a "power User", you can avoid many dangers, and you typically need to use the same functionality as the user who manages the original level, and, of course, switching back to administrator-level users is also convenient if necessary.

The steps to set power User are as follows: Select Start/Run, type the lusrmgr.msc command line, enter the Local Users and Groups window, click Group on the left, and double-click Administrators on the right. Here you need to make sure that there is another account in the members list, that is, you can also log on to the system with this account when you need full management of the original level of permissions. Select the account you want to downgrade and click "Delete" * "confirm". Next click on the "Power Users" * "add" on the left, type your account name, and then click "Confirm" 2 times.

4, when a temporary administrator

Power User can run administrator-level programs, such as the Lusrmgr.msc program mentioned in the previous 3rd, without having to log off and then log back in as an administrator-level account. The specific action is that, in the resource manager, hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard, right-click the program or shortcut you want to run, select Run as from the pop-up menu, and then select Run Program as the following (under Windows 2000) or the following user ( Under Windows XP, and then type the administrator-level username and password you want to use (and type the domain name if necessary), and then click "OK".

5. Use the Windows Network Setup Wizard

If you are connecting to a computer network for the first time, the Windows XP Network Setup Wizard is a good choice, and it can help you set up the details step-by-step. If you want to run the wizard manually, you can choose Start * run, then type "Netsetup" at the command line, and enter.

6, the installation of wireless network

When you insert a wireless network adapter into your computer, XP automatically pops up a "Connect to wireless Network" dialog box. Right-click the wireless network icon in the system bar and select "View available wireless network" From the pop-up menu, select the wireless connection you specified, and then click the "Connect" button. If you do not see this icon, type Control Panel/network connection in the Explorer or in the address bar of the folder window, and then right-click the wireless network connection icon.

7. Connect to a wireless network that is not secure

If the connection button in the "Connect to Wireless Network" dialog box mentioned in the 6th tip cannot be used (is grayed out), the network may be missing "privacy protection relative to wired connections" or a newer version of "Wi-Fi Protected security connection." If you want to solve this problem, you can turn on the "Allow me to connect to the selected wireless network, even if it is not safe" project. Note, however, that there may be a problem with your privacy protection at this time.

8. Complete your own wireless network connection

By default, Windows XP automatically sets your wireless network connection parameters, which is what XP calls the Wireless network 0 Setup feature. But if your wireless device is randomly attached to your own driver, you'd better turn off this feature of Windows. To do this, double-click the Wireless network connection icon in the Network Connections window (as shown in the 6th tip), or click the smaller version of the icon in the system bar. Select Properties, and then in the Wireless Network Connection Properties dialog box, click Wireless Network, close the Configure my wireless network using Windows, and then click OK.

9. Fast Switch Account

If your computer's memory is large enough, you can quickly switch from one account to another without having to log off the first account first. The specific steps are as follows, click "Start" * "Logout" * "Switch User". This feature is useful when you need to use another account immediately, saving you time. However, you may not like this feature because using this feature can lead to a lag in the running of your system, especially if you are running games, system tools, or other programs that require a lot of system resources.

10, turn off the Fast User Switching function

Another disadvantage of the Fast User Switching feature mentioned earlier is that when you use this feature, you will not be able to use the Windows Offline Files (Offline files) feature, which automatically downloads Web pages for you to browse offline. If you want to turn off the Fast User Switching feature, you can type Control Panel/user account in either the Address bar of any explorer or IE browser, and then click "Change user Login or Logoff mode" in the User Accounts window, and close the "Use Fast User Switching" item, and then click " Apply Options ".

11. Closing accounts rather than deleting accounts

If an employee leaves the company for a long trip, you need to change the account settings for safety precautions, but you'd better not delete the account directly. This is because when you re-establish the account later, the employee's account does not have the previous configuration, and the employee cannot access his or her own encrypted files using the new account. If you think that an account may be open in the future, you'd better close the account instead of deleting the account, as follows (this feature is not available in Windows XP H o m): Press Windows-r, type "Lusrmgr.msc", and then press ENTER. Click the Users folder, double-click the account you want to close, open the "Close the Account" Item, and click "OK" at the end. If you want to reopen the account later, just close the project again here.

12. Retention of documents for deleted accounts

If you are very sure that an employee's account will no longer be used, you can completely delete the account and save his user files. The specific steps are: Login to the system as an administrator-level account, type "Control Panel/user account" in the Address bar of "explorer" or IE, and then enter. Next, select the account name you want to delete, click "Delete Account", then click the "Keep File" button, and then click the "Delete Account" button. After these actions, although the employee's account has been completely deleted, his desktop settings and all the files in My Documents will be saved in a new folder on the desktop of an administrator account. Note that the employee's e-mail and other settings are completely gone forever after the account has been deleted.
