1.2.3 Creating a Cocos2d-iphone Help document

The API in Cocos2d is not officially provided by Apple, so the API help information in COCOS2D cannot be found by default in Xcode's Help documentation. To facilitate learning and to use the APIs provided in Cocos2d, you can access Cocos2d's official online documentation (HTTP://WWW.COCOS2D-IPHONE.ORG/API-REF/2.0.0/).

In addition, there is a way to get the latest API documentation very easily, that is, using the dash tool. Dash is a set of API document browsing and code snippets Management in one tool, it supports iOS, Android, cocos2d, unity and more than 20 kinds of framework or language of the document browsing capabilities. Most importantly, these documents are updated at any time, and only the corresponding update packages need to be upgraded. Although this software is not free, want to use its full functionality must be purchased. However, its free version does not prevent us from using it as a document query tool.

To use dash, you must first download it. The download process is really simple, just open the app Store, enter the DASH keyword in the search, and find the program icon shown in Figure 1-11 in the results of the query. Click Download to install.

After the dash is installed, you need to install the COCOS2D documentation set. First, open the dash's "application preferences" and switch to the Downloads tab, shown in 1-12.

After installing the COCOS2D package, we'll open the dash again, then enter Ccsprite in the search box in the upper-left corner, and you'll get 1-13 output (the free version of the font shows red).
