1, Refuse to useWinRARBundled malicious programs

As people's security awareness improves, the survival of Trojans, hard disk bombs, and other malicious programs becomes more and more a problem. As a result, the tested guys have racked their brains and come up with many ways to disguise themselves, bundling malicious programs with WinRAR self-extracting programs is one of the methods.

How can we determine whether a self-extracting program contains malicious programs? As long as you can find that the self-released file contains multiple hidden files, especially multiple executable files, you can determine that the file contains malicious programs. Right-click the WinRAR self-released file and select "properties" in the pop-up menu. In the "properties" dialog box, you will find that there are two more labels than ordinary EXE files: "archive file" and "comment" (1), click the "comment" tab to view the comment content, and you will find which files are contained in it, in this way, you can be aware that this is the best way to identify malicious program files bundled with WinRAR.

Let's take another precaution. Do not run the self-extracting program directly. Instead, right-click "open with WinRAR" in the menu to find out what is in the file.

In the process of using Windows, you can add such a link to the desktop. Sometimes, for the convenience of graphs, we simply put a file or folder on the desktop for a long time, the entire desktop becomes "green" and dazzling. In fact, as long as we use WinRAR, we can easily create a "Desktop Cleanup ".

First, we need to specify the desktop icon we want to retain. After confirmation, you can create a WinRAR file list. Suppose we use Windows XP, the system directory is C: \ Windows, and the current user is USER01. WinRAR has a feature that all the files in the opened folder are "Exposed" in front of us along with the corresponding extensions, and even hidden files are no exception. In addition, we can delete, copy, move, and run these files, which is also a small "Resource Manager.

With this feature of WinRAR, we can manage the "recycle bin. Everyone should have encountered such a situation: the recycle bin is full, but they do not dare to delete files in disorder, for fear of losing important data. However, you cannot view the file in the recycle bin. You can only restore the file to the folder that was previously deleted. Now, you only need to use WinRAR to open the Recycle folder of the hard disk partition, you can see all the content in the partition Recycle bin, and double-click a file to open the file. WinRAR supports drag-and-drop operations. We can drag the required files to any folder in "Resource Manager". During the drag-and-drop process, press Shift to move the files, and press Ctrl to copy the files.

4, Fast batch conversion of compressed packages

If you want to convert a compressed package in other formats to a RAR package, put the compressed package in a folder, such as H: \ fan. Open WinRAR, click convert compressed file format (shortcut: ALT + Q) in the "command" menu, and in the "Convert compressed file" dialog window that opens, click the "add" button, select the file to be converted, select the "delete original compressed file" check box (2), and click the "OK" button to convert them into RAR compressed files. This method can be used to convert ZIP, CAB, ARJ, ACE, TAR, BZ2, UUE, GZ, LZH, and other compressed packages into RAR formats.

 

5, Lock the compressed file to ensure security

Have you deleted files in the compressed package in WinRAR? After a file is deleted from the RAR package, WinRAR will automatically update the file and the deleted files will no longer be retrieved. Therefore, for a compressed package that does not need to be modified or is important, click Select this compressed package in WinRAR, and press Alt + I. In the information dialog window that opens this compressed package, click to switch to the "options" option page. In the "Lock compressed files" sample, confirm that the "do not modify compressed files" check box is selected, and click "OK. In this way, the compressed package is locked, and the files in the package cannot be modified or deleted.

Note: The preceding operations only apply to RAR compressed files. After the compression file lock function is enabled, the generated compressed files cannot be modified, which is very useful for backing up important data.

6Know the File compression size in advance

Do you want to know the size of the file to be compressed after compression? Open the WinRAR window, select the folder or file to be compressed, and click "information" on the toolbar. In the window that appears, click the "Estimate" button in the "estimate compression rate" function bar (3). WinRAR provides data such as the compression rate, compressed package size, and estimated compression time, this is very useful for compressing large files or folders. If you want to click the "info" button each time and WinRAR will automatically evaluate the file in the future, you can also select the "auto start" option.

 

7, Hide the file name in the compressed package

Our purpose of encrypting compressed files is to enhance security to protect personal privacy or important data. Generally, when you use WinRAR to open an encrypted package, you can see the file names in the package. You must enter a password only when executing the file. In fact, we can use WinRAR's encrypted file name function to encrypt the file name: Run WinRAR and click "add" in the toolbar to create a new compressed package, in the displayed window, select the files tab and select the files to be compressed. Click the "advanced" tab, click the "set password" button, and enter the password in the "Compress with password" dialog box that appears, check the "encrypted file name" check box (4) and click "OK" to create the compressed package. In this way, when you open the compressed package, you will ask for the password. If the password is incorrect, you do not know which files are contained in the compressed package. Who will crack it? This improves data security.

 

 

 8, UseWinRARRepair damagedZipFile

First open WinRAR, select the file you want to repair in the browser box, and press the "Repair" button in the toolbar to display a dialog box that allows you to select the folder where the file to be repaired is located, click "OK". WinRAR will generate a zip file named _ reconst in the directory where the file is located. Open this file and check whether the repaired file is lying in it. Note: For applications or software that are not completely downloaded, even after the restoration, the file is incomplete and thus cannot be used.

First, let's take a look. The shutdown command in WinRAR command mode is "-IOFF ". If other parameters are used together, the computer power off automatically after an operation is completed. (The premise is that the hardware must support power off.) For example, if you add all the specified files to a compressed file, the system will shut down. Enter the following command in the command line: rar a-ioff piao *. txt, note: piao indicates the compressed file name ;*. txt: add all txt files in this folder to the package.

10, Do not arouse others' desire to crack

Almost all compression software provides encryption to protect personal privacy and important data. However, most of them ignore the encryption of file names. As the CPU clock speed rapidly increases, it is increasingly easy to crack the compressed package password. As long as the machine is fast enough and takes more time, any password may be cracked. Once others are interested in your data, the security of the data becomes at risk. Therefore, it is best to include the file name in the encryption range. If I don't know what is stored in the compressed package, who will take time and effort to crack it?

The well-known WinZip does not provide this function. We can use WinRAR to obtain it. First, click the "add" button on the WinRAR main interface to create a new compressed package. Then, select the "file" tab in the pop-up window and select the file to be added to the compressed package; next, switch to the "advanced" tab, click the "set password" button (5), and enter the password. Remember: before clicking "OK", you must select "encrypted file name". Otherwise, you will be able to discard all your work.

11.Avoid repeated Password Input

Sometimes we use WinRAR to encrypt the file, but every time we execute the program in the ZIP package, it will ask for the password. When there are too many files, it will be annoying. WinZip is not the same as it. WinZip requires a password only when executing the first file. After passing the password verification, you can directly view other files in the package. It is not difficult to make it easier: After opening the encrypted compressed package, click "password" in the "file" menu and enter the correct password, you can solve the problem once.

Currently, the most commonly used CD image files are ISO files. Generally, we need to use specialized tools such as WinISO and Winlmage to edit them. However, if you have WinRAR installed on your computer and the version number is later than 3.0, you can use WinRAR to edit the ISO file. The method is: Open the "Settings" dialog box under the "Options> Settings" menu of WinRAR, add "√" before the "ISO" check box under "comprehensive options → what files are associated with WinRAR" (6 ).

The procedure is as follows:

(1) Right-click and choose "New"> "text file" from the shortcut menu to create a batch of logon files. bat, enter the following content: c: \ windows \ assumer.exe, and then save.

(2) Right-click logon. bat file, select "properties" in the pop-up menu, select the "program" tab, and enter C: \ WINDOWS \ DESKTOP \ LOGON in the "command line" column. BAT; select "minimize" in the "run" column, and then select "close upon exit. generate a shortcut in the same directory of the bat file.

(3) Right-click the two logon files and select "add to archive document ...", In the set "general" option, select "Create a self-release file". Click the "advanced" tab and select "SFX option ", in the displayed "advanced auto release options", select "regular", and enter "Run after release" in logon. bat. Click the "Mode" tab of "advanced auto release options" and set it (7 ). After confirming, the system will return to the WinRAR main window, click "set password", and set a password for the Self-release format document in the pop-up window, in fact, this is the Windows 98 login password you want to set.
