at the Spring forward conference earlier this week, Apple brought us a new MacBook lineup and a Force Touch technology that revolutionized trackpad design. the Force touch introduced four "force sensors" compared to the buttons of the old touchpad. Apple says the Force touch will give the device input feedback based on press pressure and open up a whole new way of interacting-for example, when you're browsing on safari, press it to eject a new wikipedia window.

With four "force sensors", the Force touch will allow the user to press deep in any area of the trackpad to trigger further operations.

Of course, to make the Force touch work, there has to be taptic engine (the engine will also appear on the upcoming Apple Watch).

ifixit the Force Touch electromagnetic coil.

Ifixit pointed out: the magnetic coil will quickly push and pull the bottom of the metal parts, to produce for each key operation of the corresponding weak "hum."

After digging into the trackpad, ifixit found that the metal bracket appeared to be fitted with a strain gauge (strain gauges/deformation measurer), which allowed the trackpad to know the pressure on the surface.

The microscope of the strain gauge (there are four corners of the touch panel).

As for the interior of the new MacBook Pro, we found that it basically didn't change much, but there were some minor tweaks on the motherboard and components, and interested netizens could watch the disassembly review video below.
