The next step is to create a protection group based on how DPM was previously backed up, which is what we routinely understand to create backup tasks

Here you can read the virtual machine list information in the VMware environment correctly and select the virtual machines that need to be backed up

Subscription protection Group Name

Define the protection cycle and the backup point in time (on the Specify short-term targets page, for retention period, specify the number of days to retain the recovery points stored on the disk. If you want to change the creation time and date of the recovery point, click Modify. Short-term recovery points are full backups, not incremental backups. If you are satisfied with your short-term goals, click Next.)

The data source type can be sensed and automatically matched to the corresponding backup storage space for Highiops target storage

Tick the virtual machines that need to be backed up to azure

Define backup plans for backup to Azure, backup up to 2 times a day

The retention period for subscription backups on Azure (there is no limit on how long data is retained in Azure.) When you store recovery point data in Azure, the only limitation is that there are no more than 9,999 recovery points for each protected instance. In this example, the protected instance is a VMware server)

In this example:

• Backups are performed at 21:00 and 00:00 on a day, and are retained for 180 days.
• Backups made at 21:00 in Saturday will be retained for 104 weeks.
• Backups held at 21:00 on the last Saturday night will be retained for 60 months
• The backup that was made 21:00 the last Saturday night of March will remain in 10

You can choose whether the data is retained or deleted with the protection group after you delete the protection group
