3.1 modify measurement value

UseFormatstringAttribute defines the format of each Metric value to control the display of the metric value to the user, so as to improve the user friendliness of the measurement value in the multi-dimensional dataset. In this task, you specify the format of the currency and percentage measurement values in the analysis services tutorial cube.

    • Total product cost
    • Sales amount
    • Tax AMT
    • Freight

14. In the drop-down list box at the top of the "properties" window, selectUnit price discount pctMeasure Value, and thenFormatstringSelect from the listPercent.

18. In"Metric value"In the pane, clickTax AMTAnd then change the measurement value nameTax Amount.

    This method is used to modify the measurement value name andNameThe attributes are the same.

20. In the Properties window, click"Hide automatically"To hide the "properties" window, and then"Multidimensional Dataset structure"Click"Display metric tree".

22. In business intelligence development studio"Generate"Click"Deployment Analysis Services tutorial".

    Because you have configured this project as incremental deployment, only the changes made in this project since the last deployment will be deployed to the Analysis Services instance.

24. After the deployment is completed, click"Browser"Tab.

    Bi development studio detects that the cube has been updated and prompts you to reconnect to display the updated cube.

26. In"Browser"On the toolbar of the tab, click"Reconnect".

    The dollar value of each sales quota value is displayed in the form of the currency amount (with the appropriate format for your region) in"Data"Pane.
