3G users in China are approaching 0.16 billion, and the total number of new users declined in April

At the same time, the growth of 3G users slowed down significantly. The net increase of 3G users by the three major operators in April was no more than 3 million. Both China Telecom and China Mobile have set a new low of 3G users since this year.

According to data released by China Unicom, China Unicom's 3G users increased by April in 2.918 million, and the number of new users has been less than 3 million for three consecutive months. By the end of April, China Unicom had a total of 51.778 million 3G users.

In China Mobile, in April, China Mobile added 2.307 million 3G users, hitting a new low in the number of new users this year. In the first March, China Mobile added 3G users: January in 3.05 million, February in 2.825 million, and March in 2.966 million. By the end of April, China Mobile had a total of 61.87 million 3G users.

China Telecom, however, has seen the most significant decline in 3G new users. In March April, China Telecom added 2.01 million 3G users, which is the first time China Telecom's 3G users fell to the 2 million mark in the month. By April, China Telecom had a total of 45.56 million 3G users.

Among the three major carriers, China Unicom's 3G new users are relatively stable. China Unicom is also launching new initiatives to further boost the growth of 3G users. It is understood that China Unicom recently launched a very low threshold of 20 yuan 3G card, the first day of the first push in May 17, 0.1 million cards are sold out. To meet user needs, China Unicom will launch another ultra-low threshold of 20 RMB 3g cards today, with a limited quota of 0.1 million cards.

The analysis shows that China Unicom's 3G business has entered a critical stage. Three years after trial commercialization, China Unicom's 3G user penetration rate has reached 20.3%. The gradual reduction of the 3G Package consumption threshold brings consumer sentiment, accelerating the growth of China Unicom's new 3G users.
