Installation Process Description

1. Name your SAP system. This is systemid (SID). It contains three letters. If you have not installed solution manager, enter [ECC ]. (Since you are reading this sap installation series, it is unlikely that the solution manager has been installed on the machine, because it is a dozen g software, so please enter the SID as ECC, so that you won't be confused when entering the solution manager key later .)

Another option is to select the target disk to be installed. If only one disk has more than GB space, it will be automatically selected. From the setup of the installation program, you can reflect the concept of SAP. If the installation program is M $, it is estimated that you will be free to choose a disk, and then tell you that the disk space is not enough. Please change one.

2. Select custom for installation. This is a habitual action.

3. check whether it is local install. If you want to install it on one machine, sap can be installed on multiple machines in the MSC environment on Windows, but that is not our goal.

If you are not familiar with the M $ operating system environment, you can take some time to learn about it. As mentioned in the previous articles, SAP does not support the installation of domain controllers, but does not support the installation of domain management. These two concepts are completely true, if you have a well-managed Windows domain, you can use the domain controller to install servers in the domain, or even support remote installation under the MSC. This is more intelligent.

In addition, I would like to remind you that these windows-related options appear because we have chosen to install SAP software in windows, if you use Linux, you will see a completely different interface in this step.

4. Give a password for the management account. This account is the password for the SAP management account, and the built-in account name is dicc, which is equivalent to the administrator of the Windows system. Remember this password, because the sap account will be locked automatically when it fails to log on three times. You do not want the dicc account to be locked.

5. The installer automatically creates several system accounts to prepare for running the SAP system. The passwords of these accounts are the passwords you just entered. The accounts are eccadm/sapserviceecc. Note that these accounts are windows accounts, Not SAP software accounts.

6. The database supports software settings. Because SQL Server is selected as the database support, the database server name is required here, and because local install is selected, the local name is used by default and cannot be changed. Dbsid = sapsid

If sql2008r2 is installed and you have not carefully read the previous preparation documents, you may have opened the powerful function filestream provided by SQL 2008r2. Unfortunately, the SAP installation program will be stuck, abandon this function. The good news is that you only need to go back to the SQL manager and disable this function without reinstalling it.

In addition, if you choose oracle as the background database, this area will be another selection interface, but you must first install Oracle and ensure that the database service has been started properly.

7. The system will perform an installation condition check. If the system prompts that the operating system is not supported (Windows 2008/R2) and the virtual memory size is insufficient, you can ignore it. Check the prompt and press Cancel to ignore it, press OK to re-run the check.

8. Next, this layout will be very special. It once reflected sap's "Concern" for users ". In this step, you will be asked about the location of the installation disc, because multiple discs will be involved during the process. If you want to start the installation, you can perform the following operations:

1. If you have a CD in your hand, you can put the specified cd in the optical drive and specify a copy directory so that the installer can copy the CD to the hard disk. If you have more than 6 physical optical drives and enough interfaces to connect to your computer, you can also put a single disc in, saving the copy time.

2. If you have a CD file on your hand, you can refer to the above method or simulate six virtual CDs to load these CD files, so that you can skip the copy process. (If deamon is used, it only supports a maximum of four virtual optical drives. you can install an alcohol for temporary use)

It is easy to ignore that, if a part of the CD is [four sets] During the installation process (as a whole, it is part of the software, but this part is relatively large, if multiple numbers are consecutive, the first time you ask the location of the first disc, the second question is not the second one, but the question of the first disc, then I will ask about the location of 2nd and 3rd discs. This is sap's habit (it's a strange habit, just like SAP's default digital expression is 1.234, 00 rather than 1,234.00, it's confusing ).

9. The installer will create an account for the SQL server connection without worrying about it. Just click Next.

10. specify the location of the SQL Server database file. SAP does not use the default installation location of SQL Server, but is installed in the disk root directory by default. This is a bad habit. If you are like me and are used to putting documents in different folders (otherwise you can't sleep at night), remember to change the target path. The bad message is to change the path one by one. The good news is that the list input box supports the F2 edit operation mode and can be Ctrl-C/v.

11. Next, modify the default temp database size of SQL Server, because M $ obviously does not think that SQL Server often has the opportunity to support the background database of large software such as SAP, the default database is too small. Remember to adjust the database location. Otherwise, there will be a lot of ugly directories in the root directory of your disk.

12. system parameter settings, such as the number of parallel jobs (meaning the number of parallel tasks that can be run at the same time, the number of machines used for learning, 1/2/3), do not need to be adjusted.

13. Set the central instance number and retain 00. The key is to install the key. Do not change this 00.

14. Set the communication port of the message service. You do not need to understand or change it, but make sure that the default port is not used by other programs.

15. Ask the location of the last disc (kernel installation disk)

16. In the last step, several SAR files will be automatically decompressed during installation (the SAR and car files are the files of the SAP product update package and function module, you will often encounter it later). The installer only tells you that you do not need to make any adjustments.

17. Next: Enter the Last preview before installation.

About solution manager key

Directly, this key is used temporarily for the installer. The result is that a temporary license that can be used for one month is generated on the SAP server, note that there are two concepts: License and key.

How does this key come from? It is calculated by an algorithm based on the computer name, SAP system ID, and center instance number, you have to install the solution Manager software first, but most people do not have it.
