Different platforms have different input methods. Desktop users can interact with the app via the keyboard and mouse, as do browser-based games. In Android, the mouse is replaced with a touchscreen, and there is usually no physical keyboard. Android devices have sensors such as accelerometers and compasses.

LIBGDX abstracts all of these input devices. The mouse and touchscreen are considered to be of the same type and support multi-touch.

Depending on the input device, the polling can be used to listen to the state, or by registering a listener.

All input devices are accessed via the input module:

Determine if keyboard A is being pressed.
Boolean ispressed = Gdx.input.isKeyPressed (KEYS.A);
