A little Linux every day-enable the root account under Ubuntu 12.04. We know that for security reasons, the root account under Ubuntu is disabled by default, the root account is disabled because it does not have a password. To enable the root account at www.2cto.com and log on to www.2cto.com on the GUI, follow these steps: 1. set the password for the root account: sudo passwd root 2. to log on to the root account on the GUI, edit/etc/lightdm. conf and add greeter-show-manual-login = true. Now, restart the system and use the root account to log on. If you need to disable the root account again, run: sudo passwd-l root. If you need to enable the root account again, run: sudo passwd-u root.
