Learning stems from the solution of problems

During the previous time, an Oracle software was installed on the virtual machine, the network connection of the virtual machine and the host machine was bridged mode, the static IP address and the gateway address were manually set, but the browser of the virtual machine could not be used.

So through the ping test, the host ping www.baidu.com can ping, but the virtual machine said unknown host, so let the virtual machine ping the host ping the IP address of the Baidu corresponding, you can ping through. So I decided that my DNS server is not set, with the STARTX command to switch to the GUI, I really found that my DNS is empty, but set to how much? So, a search, found this picture, the following this blog from the beginning of this picture:

As seen from the above diagram, when configured, the DHCP server is still selected to dynamically assign IP addresses, but the DNS server addresses are filled in 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

So I checked this thing out.

Google's 8.8.8.8

8.8.8.8 is an IP address that is the IP address of a free DNS server provided by Google, and the IP address of another free DNS server provided by Google is: 8.8.4.4. Users can surf the Internet using a DNS server provided by Google.
December 04, 2009 Google gave us a surprise, and a heavy blow to the OpenDNS. They announced to all internet users a set of fast, secure and completely free DNS resolution server, the address is: main 8.8.8.8, prepare 8.8.4.4.

Google announces the launch of the free public domain name resolution service, which is only part of its effort to control your activity on the web. In general, the DNS service is provided by your ISP (Internet service provider), but Google wants to give it to itself, which Google claims will make internet users faster and safer.

Before Google, when it comes to public DNS server providers, the most well-known is OpenDNS, after several years of development, OpenDNS's fee-for-service offers more features than free services, such as blocking special categories of websites and so on. The public DNS service provided by Google is slightly different, when you enter an incorrect or nonexistent URL, do not like the normal ISP returned an error page, or like China Telecom generally directly pop up a full screen is advertising page, Google promises never to re-set or filter the addresses that users visit, and there is no advertising. DNS hijacking current domestic users are commonly used by the ISP provider of DNS server, so there is a huge risk, is the DNS hijacking, the current domestic ISP operators generally adopt the method of DNS hijacking, interference users normal Internet, for example, when the user visited a non-existent (or blocked) site, Telecom operators will hijack users to a full screen advertising page, to help their own profit!
