A review of the Oracle Spatial 11g introduction lecture in the afternoon

This morning, I completed the task I proposed for myself yesterday. I finally finished reading PDF files online. At the same time, I solved new problems and added the hand-shaped cursor to control translation. The modification of batch video conversion was not done, mainly because I attended an introduction lecture on Oracle Spatial 11g in the afternoon.

Oracle Spatial 11g lecture is a technical engineer at Oracle's U.S. headquarters. It should be an overseas Chinese. The PPT is in English, and the lecture is mainly in English. I can hear it in my own words. English really needs to be improved! Let's take a look at today's lecture.

The emergence of Oracle Spatial 11g should mark that Oracle is not limited to simple massive data management, but oracle is expanding towards GIS. In fact, the real massive data is still in the GIS field. The Research on spatial databases has been very popular at home and abroad. Before that, the storage space data still depends on the file system (Geodatabase) or relational database (ArcSDE), and no one dares to say that they are spatial databases. It is mainly because of the complexity of Spatial Data Organization, mainly because of the expression of the dot and line. It seems that the object-oriented database idea is more efficient than the existing relational database to process spatial data. According to reports, the Oracle spatial processing means that all feature objects are a table object (I understand that the object-oriented idea has been adopted). It is easy to import and export table data. The import and export of ArcSDE is complicated. Instead of importing and exporting a simple table, you must first convert the data into a shapfile and then import it to the new SDE. (I used to import raster data to SDE. It was really complicated. I didn't know the meaning of the Development import tool. Today I know why I didn't copy the table directly "!)

Oracle's advantage is the secure and fast storage and management of massive data, and is the world's leader in the database field.

ESRI's advantage is GIS organization expression, which occupies 90% of the market in the GIS field. He is the world leader in the GIS field.

"The biggest challenge for Oracle to promote his spatial is how to make ESRI use its storage solution to provide its own Oracle operation API"-lead of the Conference.

Yes, Oracle said that it is a partner with ESRI and there is no technical connection problem. The key is the market problem. Oracle's entry into GIS will surely eat away ESRI's market share. These two giants are developing in two directions, respectively. Oracle: from bottom up, from data storage. ESRI: Developed from top to bottom, starting from GIS expression. Now the two giants have met, and it is impossible to swallow! Mutual development and market conflicts of interest are inevitable. It is not easy for them to achieve mutual technical advantages. The win-win concept is ineffective among giants!

Lectures mainly involve:

1. georaster Java API. Everyone knows that Oracle has acquired sun, so it has the ability to quickly launch the corresponding Java API, which currently does not support. net.

2. Raster transformations: A projection method that is very powerful in terms of projection transformation and can even be customized and extended.

3. Blocking size optimizer is block self-optimization, which can process useless boundary data and reduce data volume.

4. Raster interpolations: raster data modification operations can be used to extract some data from raster data (if the object oriented thinking is used, this is a good implementation .)

5. Coverage Evaluation, interpolation calculation, automatic GCP (ground control points) control point calculation.

6. gdal: opensource geospatial application developed in C ++ (focus on open source)

7. Point address geocoding

8. crosss-Endian support for TTS and spatial index

9. Logical Network partition: The load pressure solution adopts grids compute (Grid Computing)

10. Routing engine: path selection. Multiple control conditions are supported.

11. Terrain on demand: automatically generate Tin

12. A demo Website: elocation.orcale.com/elocation/ajax/

......

I have only recorded so many records. You can take a look at them separately. These also represent the development direction of technology. You can search for relevant materials for further understanding. You can also follow my blog. I will have a deep understanding of my content and share it with you!
