A study on the beautification of web fonts in FrontPage

When I designed the first page, I encountered the problem of setting the font. I found that if you use a software-contracted font size, the display will be difficult to see.

I am using FrontPage2000 as a Web page, in this Microsoft Big Promotion network software, the text setting incredibly is so disappointing, may have its difficulty, I do not know. In short, when I studied for a long time, I understand: On the display, the font size of Chinese fonts, the most insurance, is 9pt,11pt is also good.

If you set the size of the text in Word or Excel, you can easily find both sizes. But in FrontPage, don't think! Unless you manually set the style in the Format menu. In the Style dialog box, you can make a more liberal "change" to each part of the page. The changes are formatted, including "Font", "paragraph", "border", "numbering" and "positioning". In fact, the format content is available on the Format menu.

But in the "style" setting, more autonomy can be gained. Try it if you don't believe it. Write a Chinese language in a form, and then open the Font Settings dialog box on the Format menu. See if there are 9pt in the font size selection. Can you just write 9pt? You got it? Don't worry, go to the Style dialog box and try it, the left side of the dialog is "style" content selection, that is, let you choose the specific content you want to set manually.

For example, you can choose "TD", which is to set the contents of the table. There is a "modify" button on the right side of the Style dialog box, and when you go to "modify", you see the nasty "format" button in the bottom left corner. Inside is the five choices mentioned above. We choose "Font". In this Font dialog box, you can enter the font size value you want, direct input "9pt", and then "OK" back to see the page on the font is obedient?

Well, we finally found a way to select the font size entirely from the menu. In this way, you can set fonts of various sizes. (Microsoft is right again: Who says our software doesn't get rid of coding trouble?) But isn't that a problem?

In fact, if you don't have an obsession with coding, it's not necessarily scary if you study it with your heart. In the above example, we customize "TD" that is, the font size of the table is 9pt. So what does it do? Go to the HTML display window in the lower left corner of the software interface and you will see the HTML encoding of the page. It is generally called HTML code.

Above the code, there is a "td{font-size:9pt}" between the areas. This is the "table style" code that we've been doing for half a day.

Now, I can tell you the simple result: in the page font size setting, just add the following section of code between each page.

The key question is: how many sizes of fonts can we use on a Web page? That is, there are several font sizes in the Web page on the monitor that are beautiful. 9PT is recognized as the font size, the vast majority of web pages use it, 11pt also good-looking. The problem seems to be solved, but if you have a paragraph of text you want to set to smaller than 9pt, how to do? Can I use 8pt or 7pt? If your display "Desktop display Font" is a large font, you will find it feasible. However and uncomfortable living! Most are not 1024x768 resolution's 17-inch display, but 800x600 or 640x480 's 14-inch or 15-inch.

Their "desktop display fonts" tend to be small fonts, at which point the 8pt or 7pt display will be difficult to read, and can not see clearly. Is there another way? The method is simple and tells you another size font notation, that is, "12px". It's smaller than the 9pt font size, and it looks good on a different monitor. So you just have to change the 9pt in the above code to 12px. But you may ask: I do not want to change the whole page to 12px, and just want to let a paragraph of text is 12px, then how to do it? Changes to individual text can be done in such a way that at the beginning of this paragraph (I mean on the code page), add the following code:

So, this paragraph of text is 12px of small font, ok!

Finally, let's talk about the "Paste code" question. You will certainly be able to paste this code, because it is very convenient. We often need such a paste when making a Web page. When you paste the code, if your code is copy directly from another page, the software is likely to look at the code as text when you paste it, and the code doesn't work, and you'll see the code you just pasted on the Web page. If this is the case, you can paste the copy code onto WordPad, copy it once, and then paste it into the page code area, and the problem will be solved.
