A vast majority of large companies around the world have been immune to the Shellshock vulnerability.
According to The Register report from The British technology news website CloudPassage, Fortune 1000 (USA) and Forbes ranked among The world's top 2000 (international) companies, have been deployed or are deploying patches for the Shellshock vulnerability discovered in the computer industry a few days ago.
The vulnerability has been present for decades and has recently been detected. For older Linux computer systems, as well as some new Linux-based core computer systems have very serious security risks.
CloudPassage revealed that their estimates are based on the total number of patch companies that have already been installed on CVE-2014-6271 vulnerabilities.
