About 4020 and Shenzhen

Recently, I went to Shenzhen to provide customers with sep4020 development support. One afternoon in the morning, my trip was quite compact. I had a little experience when I ran it in a few days. For details about 4020 and about Shenzhen.

 

Since it is a business trip, of course it is mainly for official business, we should first talk about 4020:

 

1.4020 is well positioned to meet the needs of the industrial control market.

After a few days, we can say that 4020 completely satisfies the customer's needs. Previously, we made a single-chip microcomputer and found that the performance of the single-chip microcomputer could not keep up. We chose 4020. We used 2410 or 2440 in the past, it is found that the bulk production cost is too high. Select 4020.

We can expect that as long as we keep up with our work, 4020 will be widely used and trusted by more customers.

 

2. Our lack of work:

This time, we found that our work was not meticulous, and some details greatly curbed the promotion and development of 4020. For example, some very small bugs in the Code, the crude structure of the document, the messy comments in the Code, making the customer very confuse, and so on. In fact, we have done a lot of work, but some small details are not well done, so that all our previous work is not recognized. There is only good or bad judgment standards for customers, but we tend to relax our standards during development and think that the implementation of functions will be done, this will leave a lot of troubles for our future work. In fact, these are old things, but this trip to Shenzhen really made me realize this. What we are doing is products that are directly oriented to customers !!

 

3. Details, or details

Some problems are exposed this time. I will display what I remember as follows:

1. The version is messy and there is no strict management mechanism:

Sometimes it is best to find that the customer uses our pre-revision code to solve the problem for the customer. The code version is not described in the program. We don't know what version it is, and it wastes a lot of time on fixing the work we have corrected before. The software and hardware code version is released in a unified manner. All the code for the board configuration should be clear. Now we have too many versions, and sometimes the hardware is not backward compatible, resulting in more code to be maintained.

Suggestion: unify the code version and unify the code release window. Only special personnel can publish the code and strictly describe it.

 

2. There are hidden risks in the Code's internal details without passing strict test steps:

The code written by our students is poor in style, basically without comments, or worse. Comments are wrong (in fact, this problem is often easy to make, generally because it is too lazy to make corrections ), code modules do not pass strict test checks. They often check their own code. As a result, when the customer's testing environment changes, the problem persists.

Suggestion: Strengthen the test process. When the code is passed to the company, the company must perform a large number of different environment tests on the code, make sure to measure the robustness of the code, and improve the comments in the code.

 

3. Simple documents and complicated operations:

One of the major problems exposed this time is that our document is really simple. In the customer's words, "Your document has never been used at all." Qiang Lei suggested revising the document for more details, it is more user-friendly and easier to operate. Even if the customer does not understand it, it can be used according to our documents, what impressed me very much was that a customer directly took Zhou ligong's document and said to me, "What we want is this." It's a few hundred pages thick, and even how to configure the clock speed is clearly stated, customers do not want to read the chip manual, nor do they want to read our code. They just want to know what needs to be done to complete a job and learn from Zhou ligong !!

 

4. The construction of big platforms also needs to be improved:

The construction of the POs platform is still not enough. Many functions do not have a complete sample of the application program, and the platform still needs to be refined.

 

 

Let's talk about Shenzhen:

Shenzhen is an immigrant city. It is very young and Modern. On the road, we can see more young people. Unlike ordinary cities, there are not many ages. So Shenzhen is also very dynamic. There are a lot of design houses, and some even have only a few people, but no one will say you have fewer people, or you may doubt your strength when you are young, it is more important to care whether you can accomplish your goal well. When you visit a customer, the agent will say "This is Wang Zong". When I look at it, what is standing at the moment is a very young and very young person, even young people who look younger than me. Therefore, Shenzhen is a suitable city for startups.

 

The city in Shenzhen is very beautiful and the temperature is quite comfortable. When we were in Nanjing for a few times, Shenzhen was already a high temperature of 30 degrees. (The advance information was not enough, so we even brought our coat, as a result, the whole process was lying in the box. There was a green tropical tree, and the road was full of red flowers known as flowers in Shenzhen. It was quite comfortable to see in February. ShenNan avenue is very wide and beautiful, with a lot of tall buildings. It also saw the legendary M building (in fact, it is the building of China Merchants Bank. The standard is like the sign of Motorola, Which is M-type, hence the M building ). Shenzhen depends on the sea, the city is relatively sanitary, and there are many parks, basically it is free of charge, you can see Hong Kong directly in the mangrove Ridge, very close.

 

Our hotel is very quiet in a resort, and it is accompanied by the call of frogs and birds when we go to bed at night. It is very sweet. Unfortunately, there are mosquitoes in Shenzhen and we have no experience on the first day, when I opened the window, the mosquito army struck in the middle of the night. I was very tired. I put my quilt on my head and went on to sleep. I cried, Wu yyong. I fought the mosquito and suffered a heroic injury. I got up in the morning and found a bloody spot, the next day was dejected.

On the day of our departure, we opened a famous auto show in the resort. We went to breakfast and looked at it for a few minutes. It was really a famous car, Rolls-Royce, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Yangge, Land Rover, the bidding price is the one that I want to buy with my fingers. It's okay if I don't have to eat or drink for years. Well, I am also a potential customer, it is best to take a big ax photo with a strong head in the eyes of the service staff.
