About Documentum installation and Basic System Configuration

It is a long task to install Documentum because I have never seen the preparations before the software is installed so complicated and the configuration during the installation process is so numerous, it seems that the installation process is not so complex during OS installation. You need to constantly check the installation progress and have high requirements on the operating system of the machine. Non-Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition 32bit English version SP2 is not supported. Fortunately, I am not an aftersales engineer at present. Otherwise, it is estimated that when I install it in front of the customer, I wish I could not hit the wall.

Here is a combination of Windows + SQL server2005, which summarizes several key points:

1) before installation, make sure that your system is in Windows server2003 SP2 (English) version. In addition, your machine name and IP address have been specified and cannot be modified once installed, this is a bloody lesson;

2) since we are Chinese, most of the software we use is still in the Chinese version. We recommend that you set 'East Asia... '. Install the Southeast Asian character. After installation, adjust the character in "advanced" to "China (PRC)" and restart. In this way, we can see normal Chinese characters;

3) when installing SQL server2005, be sure to select 'case-sensitive 'during installation. Note that the SQL server must be patched with SP2, or there will be problems later;

Now we have installed Documentum ....

4) Create an ODBC link-system DSN pointing to the database of localhost, which will be used later when Documentum is installed;

5) install content server. There are many steps to install and configure Content Server here. The installation path is usually set to default, drive C. The detailed process is not described in detail;

OK. After the content server is installed, We will configure a repository.

Note: When configuring repository, you can select MB for the memory. The DSN system will automatically select the ODBC link created in the previous step; note that creating a new database account is dedicated to accessing the docbase database. After installation, you can see a Documentum manager under START-Program-Documentum;

6) install Application Builder. After installation, you can see two programs under START-Program-Documentum: Application Builder and application Installer. Then, you can directly create an application under builder, or install the application defined elsewhere through install;

7) after installation is complete, modify the configuration file in Tomcat,

 

C: "Program Files" Apache Software Foundation "Tomcat 5.5" Conf, edit web. XML, and add

8) Place da. War, Webtop. War, and taskspace. war under the webapps In the tomcat installation directory and start the service. After Tomcat is started, several decompressed folders are displayed under webapps to update DFC in the folder. properties, set C: \ Documentum \ config \ DFC. properties copies and overwrites Tomcat \ webapps \ da \ WEB-INF \ Classes \ DFC. properties;

9) After all OK, You can directly access and view your work results.

Access path: http: // localhost: 8080/check whether your Tomcat is normal;

Access path: http: // localhost: 8080/DA to check whether Documentum works properly.
