Amarok

Amarok's management of music libraries is one of my best practices and one of my best experiences. At the same time, with the back-end xine engine, the effect is better than that of Gstreamer. I personally feel that the restoration Effect of xine sound is better, and the sound is softer. In addition, the setting of the next song of Win + B is really amazing! Compared with other Linux-based music players, the following comparison is an absolute victory over Windows players. Microsoft's Media Player is purely a weakness. The music library is difficult to set and occupies unlimited system resources. The most important thing is that utf8 labels are not supported. In iTunes, the import of music libraries is also very troublesome. Although the playback effect is invincible, it is also good to use ipod, but I don't have an ipod. In addition, although all TTplayer items are good, they are fatal-the playback effect. I can hear it, so I won't say anything. To be honest, Foobar can be used on Windows. However, we hope to port amarok2 to QT4 because it can be used in Windows. There are a bunch of good things about amarok, but now there is still no use of amarok. After all, I have to install a bunch of QT3 and kde3 databases, which is basically hard to accept on the basis that I have installed the QT4 library. After the release of QT4, it must be installed Haha. However, this is not necessarily the case (for specific reasons, see exaile ).

Audacious
Let's not talk about it. BMP has evolved from BMP, and BMP has evolved from XMMS. Everything with XMMS is somewhat different, and there is no disadvantage of XMMS (see XMMS for details ). Good support for GBK labels. Supports APE. The effect is acceptable. However, music library management is a weakness.

Banshee
A very special music player, written in GTK #, with the background GStreamer. Sound music library management. Perfect Combination with Gnome. It can completely replace Rhythmbox. If you want to talk about the disadvantages, the import settings of the music library are somewhat confusing and not as intuitive as amarok. However, the main reason I don't need him is that his operation method is completely different from my habits, and the OSD settings are not very good.

BMP
Same as Audacious, development has been stopped. Changed to "bmp x" and tried to dress it. The operation habits were extremely uncomfortable.

Exaile
The target is amarok under gtk +. The current version is only 0.2.13. All main functions of amarok have been implemented. Very promising. I am using him now. However, it seems that the internationalization is not very good. Now my interface is still in the bird language. However, it does not affect usage. If the next step is to develop well, it is very likely that I will give up amarok.

Mpd Series
Mpd is a very thoughtful thing, music playing service. Great idea, sound music library management. Many clients are available. There is not much resource consumption. However, my mind is always uncomfortable-there is still a service available for listening to music, as? Of course, it is good to have a music server. Wma is not supported.

Rhythmbox
In Linux, iTunes is basically good. The biggest problem is that Ctrl + Space conflicts with the playing/pausing function.

Quod Libet
A very good player occupies a relatively small amount of system resources, and the music library management is also quite good, and the tag support is also good. A large number of plug-ins exist. However, the biggest problem is that Ctrl + Space conflicts with playing/pausing. So I gave up on him.

XMMS
It seems to be the most famous music player in Linux, but it was developed based on GTK + 1, and the configuration supported by the Chinese interface is very troublesome. During Redhat 9, I spent more than n effort to display the Gtk + 1 XMMS Chinese normally. Now the development is stopped. XMMS2 has nothing to do with other than its name. XMMS2 adopts the mpd route. Never used.

Smplayer
The front-end of this mplayer is outstanding. The music library management function is not available for playing music. It is really good. Of course, this is also due to the outstanding Mplayer. With codecs, basically all formats are done. Ape! However, it is still used to watch movies.
