Today, I accidentally read an article in Google Reader: procrastination and perfectionist thinking chapter, which aroused strong resonance and inspiration.
Think of yourself as imagining that you have done everything perfectly, and intend to do a lot of preparation work. Finally, deadline is close to each other and there is no substantive work. Finally, I was panic. No matter how many people are there, I just had to do the same thing. Now I can make a gap and finally finish it before deadline. However, if you give up the impractical perfectionist at the beginning and spend the same time, it may be much better than "almost. For example, I installed myeclipse, MySQL, and tomcat for my project which was arranged by the teacher before March 13, January. I made all preparations and was still in the preparation stage for reading the code, so far, I am not familiar with not too much code written by others ...... It may be partly because of your resistance to Java and JSP.
Perfectionist features:
- Not willing, not decisive, not subjective. One characteristic of perfectionists is that they want to do everything well. However, human resources are limited. If you want to do too many things, you don't know where to start or how to start. For example, when I got a good book, I always looked at it from the preface, thanks, and contents, but the final result was often I forgot it in the corner after I read it at the beginning.
- The target is too high.Perfectionists often set high targets for themselves. When they find that they cannot follow the targets, they become lost and go to another extreme-dealing with things or even giving up halfway.
- Drag, no control.Because perfectionists intend to make things perfect, they often make full preparations, so that they know that deadline has no substantial progress. For example, when writing code, do not consider special situations such as design patterns and Exception Handling. Complete the core code first and then complete it. Otherwise, the system will fall into details, but will not have a macro strategic grasp of the matter!
I think that to overcome the drag-and-drop character, we must change the unrealistic perfectionist tendency:
- Yes.People have limited energy and are only available if they are willing to give up. Therefore, before doing one thing, you must consider whether it is really meaningful or not, and understand how to discard those meaningless things.
- Do what you can.Setting realistic goals can often improve your self-confidence.
- Refuse. Before you promise to others, you must carefully consider whether you have time and energy to complete the matter. Otherwise, you may lose trust in others.
- Act immediately. If you decide what you want to do, don't use perfectionist as an excuse to delay. Since we have to do it sooner or later, why should we have to make a rough decision before deadline? To restrain yourself from the perfectionist idea, first make a version that is similar to each other, and then gradually improve it.
This is a constant struggle against the perfectionist syndrome, but you have to stick to it. After a few weeks, you will find yourself gradually becoming dominant and gaining control.
