[Abstract] After IIS is installed, there is no world wide web Hing Problem Solution

Note: After IIS is installed, there are many reasons why it cannot be used normally. For example, the dependency service is not enabled, and the kb939373 patch is installed. This is not the case in this example. This problem can be solved, but it must take effect in all cases. For reference only.

Environment: iis5.1 + Windows XP SP3 (ghost Version)

Symptom: After IIS is installed, NO content is displayed when "Internet Information Service" is enabled. The system prompts that services with service dependency cannot be started. Check the service startup status and find that there is no "World Wide Web Hing" service. This problem cannot be solved by starting related services, reinstalling IIS, and viewing installed patches according to the methods provided on the Internet.

 

Solution: view the "World Wide Web Hing" service dependency service on a machine that can normally use IIS and view "properties"

You can see the service name "W3SVC", uninstall IIS on the faulty machine, search for the Registry, and find that the "W3SVC" registry key still exists. Normally, this option does not exist after IIS is uninstalled. After you delete this item, reinstall IIS and everything will return to normal. (The specific path of this table item is as follows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ W3SVC)

 

Note: If you are worried about incomplete deletion, run the following command on the command line to delete the service item: SC Delete W3SVC (or clear the registry using Master optimization)
