Windows Server System, as the version is upgraded, many features become increasingly dependent on Active Directory and are increasingly inseparable from Active Directory, so before you experience the other features of Windows Server 8 Beta, We first deploy Active Directory to explore the various applications under Active Directory integration.

First look at the various requirements for deploying active Directory:

Necessary Description
Tcp / ip Configure the appropriate TCP/IP and DNS server addresses.
Ntfs Drives that store databases, log files, and the Sysvol folder of Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) must be placed on a local fixed volume. The SYSVOL must be placed in a volume formatted with the NTFS file system. For security purposes, the Active Directory database and log files should be placed on volumes formatted with NTFS.
Credentials (certificate) To install a new AD DS forest, you need local Administrator privileges on the server. An additional domain controller installed in an existing domain, you must be a member of the Domain Admins group.
Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure Verify that the DNS service is installed. When you install AD DS, if necessary, install the DNS server at the same time.
When you create a new domain, a DNS delegation is automatically created during the installation process. Create a credential that a DNS delegate needs to update permissions on the parent DNS zone.
For more information, see DNS Options Wizard page.
Adprep The need to run an existing active Directory, adprep.exe command automatically on the first domain controller to be added on the Windows Server "8" beta. These commands have additional credentials and connection requirements.
For more information, please refer to running Adprep.exe.
Read-only domain controllers (RODCs) Additional requirements for installing RODCs:
The functional level of the forest must be at least Windows Server 2003
At least one writable domain controller running Windows Server 2008 or later must be installed in the same domain.
For more information, see Prerequisites for deploying an RODC.

To meet this requirement, we can install active Directory running: Dcpromo

The results found that we are no longer familiar with the picture, but there is a hint: along the http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=220921 we find, we will find that the ad installation, is not the previous command dcpormo+ Wizard, step by step, instead of the command + parameters or Server Management Add Role Wizard mode.
