Add an outer glow effect to the icon with PS

Recently in the use of the app when the icon needs to be based on the click and non-click Display two states (the original state and the outer glow State).

There is no way, because this is the graduation design things, can not ask colleagues to help deal with the next. So I acted as a back-up artist.

The procedure is as follows:

1. Open your Photoshop and click file ---> open as Smart object

2. Select the picture you want to open

3. After opening, go to the lower right corner of the Photoshop interface, where there is the FX button, click on it, the pull-up menu appears, click the outer Glow

4. The following pop-up window appears, where you can choose the parameters you want (feel free to adjust to your liking), the right picture is my parameter.

5. After the adjustment, you can see the original picture, has added the effect of the outer glow.

6. Next to save the file, click Save as Web format .

7. Select the file format you want to save, then click Save.
