Add a Java Runtime Environment to firefox3.0.8 in ubuntu8.10
It is quite easy to install JRE for IE in windows, to compile (non-Apt-Get mode ):
1. To http://www.java.com/zh_CN/download/manual.jsp
Download the jre-6u23-linux-i586.bin.
2. Copy the jre-6u23-linux-i586.bin to a permission directory in Ubuntu, such as my/hd2.
3. Execute./jre-6u23-linux-i586.bin
After self-decompression, A jre1.6.0 _ 23 file is generated in the current directory.

4. Find the location of the plugin for firefox3.0.8 on Ubuntu, my is/usr/lib/firefox-3.0.8/plugins

5. Go to the/usr/lib/firefox-3.0.8/Plugins directory and create a software link to the libjavaplugin-oji.so:
Ln-S/hd2/jre1.6.0 _ 23/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin-oji.so
6. Add the Java console menu for firefox3.0.8:
CD/usr/lib/firefox-3.0.8/extensions
Unzip/hd2/jre1.6.0 _ 23/lib/deploy/ffjcext.zip
7. Close all Firefox windows and restart Firefox. A Java console is displayed under the Tools menu.
8. Okay, firefox3.0.8. Now you can execute the Java applet.
