Add, rearrange, and delete slides in PowerPoint2013

The new slide that appears when you open PowerPoint 2013 has two placeholders, one that is formatted for the title, the other is a placeholder that is formatted for the subtitle. The arrangement of placeholders on slides is called a layout.

When you add a slide to your presentation, you can choose the layout of the new slide by doing the following: dedecms.com

In normal view, click under individual slide thumbnails that appear automatically when you open PowerPoint.

On the Start tab, in the slides Group, click the arrow next to new slides . Or, if you want the new slide to have the same layout as the previous slide, just click New Slide instead of clicking the arrow next to it.

Good dream, good weaving dream

A library appears that shows thumbnails of the various available slide layouts.

1. The name identifies the content for which each layout is designed.

2. Placeholders that display color icons can contain text, but you can also click the icon to automatically insert objects, including SMARTART graphics and clip art.

3. Click the layout you want for the new slide.

The new slide now appears as a thumbnail on the left side of the Slide pane, highlighted as the current slide, and a larger slide on the right. Repeat this procedure for each new slide that you want to add.

Determine the number of slides you want

To calculate the number of slides you want, outline the material that is covered by the plan, and then divide the material into slides. You may need at least: content from Dedecms

A main Title slide

An introductory slide that lists the main points or faces in your presentation

A slide that applies to each point or face listed on the introductory slide

A summary slide that repeats the list of major points or faces in a presentation

So, if you have three key ideas or areas to introduce, plan at least six slides-a title slide, an introductory slide, three slides for three main views or areas, and a summary slide.

If you have a large number of materials to introduce in any of the main ideas or areas, you may want to create slide subgroups for the material by using the same basic outline structure. Also, consider how long each slide should appear on the screen during the presentation. A good standard is estimated to be 2-5 minutes per slide.

Apply a new layout to a slide

To change the layout of an existing slide, do the following:

In normal view, click the slide thumbnail that you want to apply the new version to.

On the Start tab, in the slides Group, click Layout , and then click the new layout that you want.

If you apply a layout that already exists on a slide that does not have enough of the correct kind of placeholders, PowerPoint automatically creates additional placeholders to contain the content. Copy slides

The following tips may save you time and work-to create two or more slides that are similar in content and layout, create a slide that contains all of the formatting and content that are common to all two slides, then copy the slide, and then make the final, personalized processing for each slide. It works as follows: In normal view, right-click the thumbnail of the slide you want to copy, and then click Copy .

Right-click the slide thumbnail area for the new copy of the slide you want to add, and then click Paste .

You can also use this procedure to insert a copy of a slide into another presentation from one presentation.

Rearrange slides in order

In normal view, click the thumbnail of the slide you want to move, and then drag it to the location you want.

To select multiple slides, hold down CTRL while you click each slide you want to move, and then drag them as a group to the new location.

Delete Slides

In normal view, right-click the slide thumbnail that you want to delete, and then click Delete Slide .
