The previous development has been to the Android website to download Adt-bundle, which already contains the eclipse and Android SDK, build the Android environment is particularly convenient, only 3 steps: 1. Download and install the JDK (that is, jar SE) 2. Configure Java Environment variables 3. Download Adt-bundle. This allows you to punch in eclipse to develop Android directly.
However, one drawback of adt-bundle is that there has been no update for Eclipse, the latest version of Adt-bundle is the 4.2 version of Juno, and now the more commonly used version is the 4.4 version of the Luna, or even 4.5
of Mars. And Google's recommended Android studio has been a beta version, has not yet come out of the official version.
α is a beta version, beta is a public beta version, and Gamma is an alternative version of the previous version. (Baidu Encyclopedia)
So I reviewed the way to build the Android development environment before Adt-bundle appeared:
1. Download the installation JDK and configure the environment variables (ignored if configured)
2. Download the new Eclipse (Luna Edition)
3. Installation of ADT, two methods: ① recommended: Directly into Eclipse's marketplace (only a new version) to download ADT. ② or go to the Android website to download ADT manual installation.
ADT is an Eclipse plugin that allows us to develop and use the SDK. Other Ides do not need to download ADT, for example, Android Studio does not require ADT.
4. Download the Android SDK. The SDK (software development Kit) is essential for developing Android.
5.eclipse configuration under the SDK location: Eclipse menu bar window-->preference-->android, on the right side will just download the extracted SDK directory configuration, if the computer also holds adt-bundle, Then eclipse will automatically find the location and configure it.
