When installing SQL Server2000ProgramI am prompted that the installation program has been suspended and asked to restart my computer. However, even if I restart the computer and install it again, the installation program of SQL Server2000 still prompts me this error. It seems that the suspended installer cannot be restarted.
After reading the information, we learned that to solve this problem, we need to delete the pendingfilerenameoperations subkey under the Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager. "Double-click to delete data. The key is not deleted"
Cause:
According to the name, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager should store the snapshot of the current system session, while pendingfilerenameoperations records an unsuccessful file renaming operation, SQL Server may use this key value during installation and records operations on temporary files during installation. If SQL Server discovers this key value when the installation process starts, it considers that the previous installer is not complete, and thus rejects the installation process.
In principle, any program that modifies this key value should delete this key value at the end or when the system restarts, however, if this operation is not performed for various reasons, SQL Server will naturally come to an incorrect conclusion.
