After redhat9.0 is installed, it cannot normally enter the graphic interface. It seems that the Chinese font-general Linux technology-Linux technology and application information cannot be displayed. For more information, see the following. Problem: the hard disk is installed in DOS and the installation process is smooth (select Personal desktop mode). After the installation, it can run in character mode, but cannot enter the graphic interface. It seems that garbled characters are displayed when there is a Chinese font.
The system configuration is as follows: cpu intel celon (TM) 1.0 GB; display card board load 810; dual Hard Disk: redhat9.0 is installed on the first hard disk, and WINXP is installed on the second hard disk.
Installation overview: Enter DOS in the system of the second hard disk and install it from the hard disk in DOS. The installation process can correctly identify CPU, video card, and display. During installation, select the Simplified Chinese version. During installation, you can also see that the Chinese font file is installed.
Use after installation: the above problem occurs. (You want to enter the graphic interface after starting the instance)
The following four error messages are prompted during system loading:
1. Finding module dependencies: depmod: lantopen/lib/modules/2.2.10/modules. dep for writting
2. Mounting local filesystems: mount: fs type tmpfs not supported by kernel
3. Starting NFS locking: lockdsvc: Function not implemented
4. Mounting other filesystems: mount: fs type tmpfs not supported by kernel
The following two error messages are prompted during Shutdown:
1. Shutting down console mouse services FAILED
2. Stopping NFS locking FAILED
Once done operation: setup can not solve the problem; with export LC_ALL = POSIX can solve the garbled problem, but the cancellation is invalid; with the redhat-config-xfree86 can not enter the settings, prompt cannot open X service; unable to access with startx
