If an ECS instance is not joined under a security group and the security group is not referenced by a security group rule for another security group, the security group can be successfully deleted. Deleting a security group removes all security group rules under the security group.

To remove a security group from the console, follow these steps:

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console.

Click a security group in the left navigation.

Select a region to display a list of all the security groups under that region.

Select one or more security groups, or you can select all security groups and click Delete.

In the Prompt box that pops up, click OK to delete the security group successfully.
