Depending on your business needs, you can choose any of the following ways to deploy a cloud server ECS instance's usage environment:

Mirrored deployment

Manual deployment

The following table lists the characteristics of the two deployment methods. Mirror deployment is generally recommended. If you need to personalize your deployment, it is recommended that you use manual deployment.

Note: This document only describes common procedures. The general Image Software installation package contains the Operations Guide, please read the Mirror operation guide for specific installation and configuration.

Aliyun's cloud market provides a wealth of mirrored resources. Mirroring integrates the operating system and applications. When you create an instance, you have the option to include a mirror that contains the application environment, and you do not need to deploy the environment after it is created.

Note: Cloud server ECS does not support the installation of virtualization software (such as KVM, Xen, Docker, etc.).

Example I: Buy mirrors from the mirror market (operating system + application), deployment environment

Description: The methods described in this section apply to users who have purchased an instance but want to use mirroring to redeploy the environment. In addition, you can select a mirror when you create an instance, refer to the Create instance.

If you want to replace the operating system of the current instance with mirrors of the mirror market, you can do so by replacing the system disk described in this section.

When you replace the system disk, the data on the disk will not be affected. Therefore, it is recommended that you back up your system disk's personal data to a data disk or otherwise.

The IP address does not change after the system disk is replaced.

If you purchased an instance that is already running, but you want to redeploy the environment using mirrors in the mirror market, the steps are as follows:

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console.

Locate the instance where the environment needs to be redeployed.

If the instance is just created, you can stop the instance directly. If the instance has been running for some time, and you want to keep the data in it, back up the data to the data disk before you do the operation.

Note: After the mirror is replaced, all the data for the system disk will be emptied, and the snapshot of the server's automatic backup and the snapshot of the manual backup will all be emptied. Therefore, must do a good job of data backup.

Stops the instance.

Confirm the stop instance.

When the instance is stopped, click the instance name, or click Manage on the right.

In the configuration information on the left, click More > Replace the system disk.

In the prompt message, click OK to replace the system disk.

Click the Mirror Market, and then click Select from the Mirror market (including the operating system).

The left side of the mirrored market list is the classification of mirrors. Depending on the category, you can select the mirror you want to use. After you find the mirror you want, click Agree and use at the bottom right of the mirror.

Notice that at the bottom of the left, there are two buttons: the purchased mirror and the subscribed mirror. If you have purchased a mirror, you can click on the purchased mirror and select the mirror.

The following figure is an example of choosing a mirror that has been purchased. Click Agree and use.

Note: On this page, do not click on a mirrored connection, or it will direct you to the purchase of the mirror page, causing misunderstanding.

Continue to select the system disk, enter the login password, and click to pay.

You will see a prompt to replace the operating system. Click OK.

You successfully deployed the environment with mirroring. You can now start and log on to the instance and start using your environment.

Example II: Manually deploy Aliyun Linux One-click Install WEB Environment (applies only, does not contain operating system)

This section takes CentOS as an example of how to use Aliyun mirroring and one-click deployment of a Web environment. The sample does not need to replace the system disk.

Before you deploy, make sure that:

Your instance can be connected to a public network.

Tools for connecting to the Linux instance have been installed, such as Xshell and xftp. This article will take these two tools as an example to explain the operation steps.

Note: The Aliyun Linux one-click Installation WEB Environment installation package does not support automatic mount I/O optimized data disks.

Open the Aliyun cloud market in the browser.

Search Aliyun Linux One-click to install the Web environment, and then purchase the software.

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console. Open products and Services > Cloud market.

Click the service you have purchased. On the right side of the Aliyun Linux installation Web environment, click Manage.

Click on the download address, one click Download installation package.

Unzip the installation package.

Make sure that you have installed the tools to connect to the Linux instance, such as Xshell and xftp.

Open Xshell, set the information required for the login instance: login account, Character set encoding select UTF-8. Then click OK to confirm the save.

Enter user name root and password.

Click the xftp icon for the Xshell toolbar (new file transfer), or create a new file through a window > transfer, or use the shortcut key CTRL + ALT + F to open xftp, and then upload a key installation package file via XFTP.
