Log on to Windows instance

Unlike the local operating system, there are also different tools for Telnet to the cloud server ECS instances. See the following table for how you log on to an instance.

Local to Windows system

This section describes how to log on to a Windows instance locally for the Windows operating system.

Once the cloud server ECS instance is created, you can log on to the server in any of the following ways:

Remote Desktop Connection (Microsoft Terminal Services Client, MSTSC): Log In this way, make sure the instance has access to the public network. If you do not purchase bandwidth when you create an instance, you cannot use Remote Desktop Connection.

Management Terminal VNC: Regardless of whether you purchased the bandwidth when creating the instance, you can log on to the instance through the management console's admin terminal as long as you have a Web browser locally.

Using Remote Desktop Connection (MSTSC) to log on to an instance

Open the Start menu > Remote Desktop Connection, or enter MSTSC in the Start menu > Search. You can also use the shortcut key win+r to start the Run window and enter MSTSC to start Remote Desktop Connection.

In the Remote Desktop Connection dialog box, enter the public network IP address of the instance. Click the Display option.

Enter the user name, which defaults to Administrator. Click Allow me to save my credentials, and then click Connect. This will not require you to manually enter your password after you log in.

To facilitate the copying of local files to an instance, you can also set up shared local computer resources through Remote Desktop. Click the Local Resources tab to set it up, and you will typically select the Clipboard. However, the Clipboard can only copy text information directly from the local to the instance and cannot copy the file.

If you need to copy the file, click on the details, select the drive, and then select the file Store letter.

You can also resize the window in the Display tab, and generally choose full screen.

Click OK, and then click Connect.

You are now successfully connected to the instance and you are ready to operate.

Using the admin terminal VNC Login Instance

Management terminal as a different from the common Remote Connection tool, in the ordinary Remote tools (such as Putty, Xshell, SECURECRT, etc.) can not be used, you may through the management terminal into the Cloud server login interface, view the server interface at the time of the state; if you have permission to do so, Can log on to the server for operational configuration, for the technical ability of users to solve their problems have a lot of help.

Working with scenes

Management terminals apply to include but are not limited to the following scenarios:

Instance boot speed is slow, such as start self test, you can view progress through management terminal;

Your instance's internal software setup error has prevented remote connections (for example, firewall settings), you can log on by managing the terminal, and then reset the firewall;

Application consumption cpu/bandwidth is high, resulting in the inability to connect remotely (for example, by the broiler, process cpu/bandwidth run full), you can through the management terminal into the login to end the exception process.

Operation Steps

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console.

Navigate to the instance you want to connect to.

Click on the right side for more > Connection Management terminals.

The first use prompts VNC to connect the password. This prompt appears only once, and each time you need to enter the password when VNC logs on, make sure you write down the password.

If you forget your password, click the Modify management terminal password in the upper right corner.

Click the connection management terminal for the Send Remote command in the upper-left corner. Enter the VNC connection password connection instance.

You can see the login interface for the Windows server instance by sending a remote command ctrl+alt+delete in the admin terminal interface. Enter a username and password to log in.

Local to Linux system

You can log on using a remote connection program. If you do not purchase bandwidth, you will need to use the Admin console login instance.

Using a remote connection program

The local system is Linux, to log on remotely is an instance of Windows, you need to follow the corresponding version of the Remote Desktop Connection program, recommend you to use Rdesktop.

Open Rdesktop, and then enter the following command (change the parameter in the example to your own parameter):

Parameter explanation:

-u user name, Windows instance default username is administrator;

-P login to the Windows instance password;

-F Default Full-screen, you need to use the Ctrl-alt-enter key combination for Full-screen mode switching;

-G resolution, the middle with "X" Connection, can be omitted, omitted after the default for full-screen display;

192.168.1.1 change to the IP address of your Windows instance;

-d domain name, such as Domain INC, then the parameter is-D Inc

-R multimedia redirection such as turn on sound-R sound use local sound card-R sound:local to open U disk:-R disk:usb=/mnt/usbdevice

-R clipboard:primaryclipboard: This parameter enables local Linux systems and remote Windows instances to copy and paste text directly. It's no problem to stick Chinese.

-R disk:sunray=/home/yz16184: Specifies that a directory on local Linux is mapped to a hard disk on remote Windows so that the transfer file is not dependent on Samba or FTP.

Using the admin terminal VNC Login Instance

The action steps are the same as the local Windows system steps.

Local for MAC OS X system

Mobile APP Login

You can also connect to an instance of a remote Desktop APP on your phone, such as a Microsoft Remote Desktop login Windows instance from the app Store for Apple mobile users.

How do I forget the instance login password?

If you forget the login password for the instance (not VNC's password), reset the password.
