All the desktop shortcuts in the computer have become the same icons

2. Press the key combination "win+r " to bring up the Run Command box, type in " open " field regedit.exe , enter, open Registry Editor.

4. In the Registry Editor that opens, navigate to the hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/explorer/fileexts/.lnk path. (as shown in the following illustration) remove all but openwithlist and openwithprogids .

6. Expand openwithlist and openwithprogidsrespectively. In the Right detail window, delete all key values except the default key values.

   Exit the registry after the modification is complete.
