Prerequisites: 1. Install the Remote Desktop Connection Tool and upgrade it to Version 6.1.

2. Upgrade Windows to XP SP3.

This article describes how to add the network identity authentication function by modifying the Registry to Windows XP SP3.
In practice, you may often use Remote Desktop Connection. A common case is Windows XP and Windows Vista, the Remote Desktop Connection of Windows Vista is "only allow remote desktop computer connections with network-level authentication (more secure)", that is to say, authentication is performed before Remote Desktop Connection, in this way, the system can be more secure.
In fact, after installing the SP3 patch package for Windows XP, the Remote Desktop can already implement network level authentication (NLA), but we did not find the corresponding support information in the help information, what's going on? In fact, this is because Windows XP SP3 does not automatically activate NLA support, we need to manually change the key values in the Registry, the specific steps are as follows:

Step 2: Go to Windows XP SP3, Run "Regedit" to open the Registry Editor, go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ LSA", and double-click "security packages" in the right pane ", the "Edit multi-string" dialog box is displayed, and the "tspkg" content is added to the list box. As for the original content, do not change it.

Step 2: Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ securityproviders", double-click the "securityproviders" string on the right, open the "Edit string" dialog box, and add ", credssp. DLL ", note that there is a space after the comma, and this comma is an English comma.

Step 2: restart the computer after completing the preceding modification. Enable Remote Desktop Connection from the Start menu again. Now we can see "Support for network-level authentication" in the "about" window.

Note: If you are remotely connecting to Windows Vista from Windows XP SP3, use the computer name instead of the IP address.
