SSID protection network security is a common knowledge problem for Internet users. However, although you still cannot fully implement security protection after setting the SSID, have you tried setting the SSID in another way? This article will show you how to set up a Chinese SSID wireless network to protect our network.
If you are still worried that your wireless network will be compromised by others, if you cannot find your own network in many wireless networks with the same default SSID ...... Therefore, do not name your wireless network in English. If you use the Chinese SSID wireless network settings, you will find that the wireless network is safer and easier to find in the search list.
Highlights of Chinese SSID wireless network settings
By default, the SSID (wireless network name) is configured for wireless network settings, many readers will use D-Link, Linksys, DD-WRT and Other Default names, even if the change, the SSID is also composed of letters and numbers.
However, even if no "broadcast" is set for the SSID composed of letters and numbers, intruders can scan the corresponding wireless network and smoothly intrude into the network through tools such as bt3, bt4, and network ant Financial. Only by changing the SSID information to Chinese can the above problem be completely avoided. On the one hand, Chinese characters are garbled in these software; on the other hand, many intrusion tools are developed by foreign developers and are not compatible with Chinese characters.
Some devices on the market fully support Chinese SSID wireless network settings. However, many devices do not support the use of Chinese to name SSID. In this case, you can solve this problem by using the two methods described in this article.
You can select either of the two modification methods.
1. browser Method
Device requirements: The device requirements are relatively low, even if not for the wireless router brush DD-WRT or Tomato and other third-party firmware can also use this method to modify the SSID to Chinese.
The firmware used by the wireless router is a DD-WRT. When the SSID information of the wireless network is changed to the Chinese name and saved, the system prompts "the wireless network name (SSID) contains illegal ASC Ⅱ code ". This is because the wireless router management interface is compiled by JSP, and many JSP statements do not support Chinese characters. The purpose of the browser method is to enable the wireless router management interface to support Chinese encoding.
Step 1: because many wireless router management interfaces are created using JSP or JAVA programs, you can remove the restrictions on the wireless network settings of Chinese SSID by prohibiting the loading of JAVA components. By default, Internet Explorer does not have functions, so you can only use the Firefox browser to solve this problem. First, access the wireless router management interface through the Firefox browser. garbled characters are displayed by default.
Step 2: Set the language to "Chinese" in "character encoding" of Firefox to solve the Garbled text problem. In addition, in the Firefox browser, deselect the "enable javascript" option.
Step 3: refresh the management page, enter the Chinese SSID wireless network settings again, and save the settings. The message "illegal ASC Ⅱ code" is no longer displayed.
Step 4: after saving the image, you can view the wireless network with the SSID changed to a Chinese character through the wireless scanning function of the operating system. After setting, you need to re-select the "enable javascript" option in the Firefox browser to avoid any impact on browsing other pages in the future.
2. Telnet Method
Device requirements: This method requires that the Telnet service is enabled for the wireless router. However, not all wireless devices enable the Service by default. before you proceed, make sure that the service is enabled.
You can use this method only when the Telnet service is enabled on a wireless router.
Step 1: In general, brush the DD-WRT or Tomato and other third-party firmware wireless router will enable the Telnet function by default, and some D-Link, Linksys Wireless Router also has related functions. You only need to enter the "Telnet wireless router management address" in the Command Prompt window for detection. If you are prompted to enter the user name and password, this function is enabled.
Tip: the user name entered in Telnet state is always root, and the password is consistent with the account password in the graphical management interface.
Step 2: Enter the command line management interface of the wireless router through Telnet. You can use the nvram set wl_SSID = "Chinese SSID name" command to set a Chinese SSID, for example, if the input is nvram set wl_SSID = "signature feature", the SSID broadcast network information is set to "signature feature ".
Step 3: after the modification, you can view the changes to the SSID information on the graphic Management Interface in real time. However, garbled characters may occur, so ignore it.
Step 4: Use the nvram commit command to save the settings on the command line interface, and then restart the system using the reboot command.
