An easy recovery system method with Win8 system refresh and system reset

Win8 has a simpler way to recover, win8 system-Built-in "system Refresh" and "system reset" components allow us to easily revert to normal when a Windows 8 system goes wrong--official installation, non-toxic, no horse and no plug-ins.

Small knowledge: What is "system Refresh" and "System reset"

System refresh: Win8 will retain personalization, personal files, drivers, and applications that are installed through the Windows Store, remove other applications, and revert to the default state. Simply put, the effect is equivalent to the recovery of the ghost backup.

System Reset: The system is completely reinstalled, removing all other files from the system program, and reinstalling the new system after execution. The entire reload operation is fully automatic without user intervention and operation.

1. Extract image file prepare system refresh

The system refreshes and resets by default requires the support of the WIN8 installation disc, first you need to extract the installation image file "Install.wim" to the local hard drive for standby preparation.

Download the WIN8 installation file (ISO format) placed in D disk, right-click the ISO file select "Load", load it into the virtual optical drive, and then extract the "Virtual optical drive Sourcesinstall.wim" to the e disk standby. Then start the command prompt as an administrator, and enter "Reagentc/setosimage/path e:/index 1", which prompts "Operation Success" (Figure 1).

Once you have done this, enter "Reagentc/info" at the command prompt again to ensure that "Setup enabled:" appears as "1" and that "Os recovery image:" Displays the same path as "Install.wim" (Figure 2).

2. Be prepared for data backup

Both the system refresh and reset operations are likely to cause user data loss, so it is recommended that you back up your data with the Create System mirroring component, WIN8, before performing this operation.

Open Control Panel, expand control Panel → all Control Panel items → Restore Windows 7 backup, and then click the Create System Mirroring button in the left pane (Figure 3).

Then, as prompted by the Backup Wizard, back up the current system partition to a different partition. Assuming that the backup destination partition is a J disk, and the backup is complete, open "J:windowsimagebackup Computer name Backup 2011-10-28 171207" to see a similar " FBCDE2AA-E79C-11E0-99F1-806E6F6E6963.VHDX file (Win8 created a. vhdx file, as shown in Figure 4).

After completing the above backup, after the refresh or reset operation, if you want to extract the backup data, just open the backup directory, select the ". Vhdx" file in which to select "Mount" load, then you can open the virtual disk extract file in the resource manager.

3. Use system refresh and reset function to restore system

The system refresh feature does not remove user personal files, so you can use this feature to quickly recover from a system failure that does not want to lose a personal file user. System reset function is similar (just select a different menu), the following will be divided into "system refresh" operation for example to explain the recovery process.

Situation A:win8 can enter, still have a breath

If Win8 can also enter, open the Control panel after entering the WIN8 system, expand control Panel → system and Security →file History, and then click Reaset your PC on the left pane. The screen pops up the recovery interface, prompts you to click the "Get Started" button after "Refresh" and activates the system reset operation (Figure 5).

In the Pop-up Action Wizard read the refresh note carefully, click "Next" and the rest of the actions follow the on-screen prompts to complete the reboot. The system automatically enters the system refresh operation after reboot and clicks the "Ttoubleshoot" button (Figure 6) in the graphical boot menu that appears. Then click "Refresh your PC" at the prompt in the open window to activate the System Refresh component (Figure 7). The remaining actions follow the Refresh Wizard and click Next to finish.

After the system refresh completes, WIN8 will automatically reboot and enter the system, at this time our personal files and settings will not be lost, as long as the application can be reinstalled to use, all the system settings have been restored to the default settings, and the original system will automatically be saved in the "C:windows.old" directory. System reset operation is similar, just click the appropriate "Reset your PC" button, the remaining actions are completed by the screen prompts, reset after the successful and initial installation Win8, set the login username, password, complete initialization settings can start to use the Win8.

The situation B:WIN8 terminally ill, unable to enter

If the system fails to reach the desktop with a serious failure, you can also use the WIN8 self-healing environment to enter the recovery interface.

When the Win8 graphical startup interface appears when you start your computer, click Change Default or Choose option (Figure 8) in the lower-left corner of the screen.

Then in the open window to enter the original system administrator account password login, login after the success of the remaining operation with the "situation a", the screen prompts to complete the operation.

TIPS: For Win7+win8 dual systems, and Win7 as the default startup user (Win8 for the user who is the default-initiated user), simply select Win8 in the multiple-boot interface, press F8, and then choose Repair Computer on the Windows Advanced Boot Interface menu. The remaining operations are the same as single Win8 users.
