An error occurred when installing curses-general Linux technology-Linux technology and application information. For more information, see the following. Ubuntu 10.04 installed in vmware requires the use of make menuconfig to prompt that ncurses-devel is not installed during cross-compilation.
As a newbie, my vmware does not connect to the internet for the time being, and many of the updated features downloaded directly using commands won't work.
Download an ncurses-5.6.tar.gz,
./Configure
Make

Show after make is complete
