Analysis of step 1 of Alpha router settings: TCP/IP configuration

1. Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Network icon and select the configuration page in the network window.

4. Double-click the Protocol to add the TCP/IP protocol.
5. Select a Microsoft Project from the list and select TCP/IP in the network protocol. Click OK to return to the network window.
6. the TCP/IP protocol is listed in the network window. Click OK to complete the installation and restart the machine to activate the TCP/IP protocol.

Set TCP/IP protocol for Alpha Router

1. Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
2. Click the Network icon and select the TCP/IP line associated with your Nic on the configuration page of the network window.
3. Click properties to set the TCP/IP protocol for the vro.
4. Now, you have two ways to configure the Alpha router:

Method 1: Obtain the IP address through the DHCP service:

A. On the IP address page of the TCP/IP attribute, select "automatically get IP Address.
B. do not set any value for the Alpha router on the gateway page.
C. Select disable DNS on the DNS configuration page:

Method 2: manually configure the IP Address:

A. Select the specified IP address on the IP address page. The default IP address of this product is 192.168.18.1. Therefore, use 192.168.18.xxx in the IP address field (the number of xxx is 2-253) and 255.255.255.0 In the subnet mask field.

B. On the gateway page, type the IP address of the product in the new Gateway field (the default IP address is 192.168.18.1), and click Add.

C. On the DNS configuration page, select Enable DNS, add the DNS provided by the ISP to the DNS server search sequence, and click Add. Taking Chaozhou as an example, the primary DNS is: 202.96.128.166, And the backup DNS is 202.96.128.68. Please consult your local ISP supplier for your DNS.

So far, TCP/IP settings are complete. Note: This step is most easily ignored by users. The IP address is the basis for TCP/IP protocol communication. If the correct IP address is not available, the following steps cannot be performed. Because the Alpha router sets the IP address 192.168.18.1 when the Broadband Router leaves the factory, and its built-in DHCP (Dynamic IP allocation) server scope is 192.168.18.100-192.168.18.150, therefore, the IP address of the first workstation to which you apply for a bandwidth router is 192.168.18.100, And the IP address of the second workstation is 192.168.18.101.

If your workstation cannot be rented to 192.168.18.x (x: 100 ~ 150), please check whether your network adapter, network cable, TCP/IP protocol is correct. Note that there is a drop-down list above this window. If you have several NICs or Microsoft "dial-up network adapters" installed ", be sure to select the network card connected to the Broadband Router. Do not select another Nic or "PPP Adapter ". If you have other DHCP servers installed on your network (for example, Windows NT has DHCP servers installed), disable the server before performing step 2.
