Android Fragmentation chart: Jelly beans (Jelly bean) LED

It's time again to look at the extent to which Google's mobile operating system is "fragmented". The developers behind the OpenSignal, through their data collected from applications downloaded by users, have made a market analysis of Android devices. In short, there are still 8 versions of Android in use, while 37.9% of Android users run some form of "jelly beans" (Jelly bean) and this year "saw" 11,868 "different" Android devices.

The study did not cover the entire 2013, but the OpenSignal team has seen almost 12,000 different Android hardware. This does not mean that all of these devices were made or launched this year, but in a sense, Android device manufacturers have made the market somewhat saturated.

The study also "saw" 3,997 different Android devices introduced last year. The "see" here refers to the devices that download or attempt to access their opensignal applications.

As for the Android operating system, the current largest head of the "Jelly Beans" (Jelly Bean), the Android 2.3.3-2.3.7 version of the "Gingerbread" (gingerbread) to 34.1% second, and then, relatively small "fragments" Are 2.1 and 2.2 versions of Eclair (Muffin 3.1%) and Froyo (Frozen yogurt 3.1%).

The most interesting of all is the 0.1% "hive" (Honeycomb), which only appears on a handful of tablets and smartphones. As for Apple's iOS, 95% is iOS 6, only 5% in iOS 5 and earlier in the previous version.
