Apple iOS iPhoto is no longer using Google Map
According to the US technology blog website BusinessInsider, Apple's iOS version of iPhoto is no longer using Google Maps.
In the past few years, Apple has acquired two map service startups, who have been paying attention to what Apple will use to do, however, stopping using the Google map service is probably the beginning.
Analysts pointed out that Google map is a good service, but considering the cool relationship between Apple and Google, it is strange that Apple still relies on Google for such an important iPhone feature. In addition, if Apple has full control over the map service on the iPhone and provides products that are better than Google to some extent, it can improve the competitiveness of iPhone and iPad as Android devices. Of course, the services provided by Apple may not be as good as Google, which will lead to the loss of iOS devices as an advantage for Android devices.
In any aspect, the map service is likely to be the fourth important native app on the iPhone (the first three are emails, text messages, and Safari), and since the launch of the first iPhone, apple has never made major upgrades to the map service. Industry insiders expect that Apple will make great moves in this regard.
According to OpenStreetMap, Apple is using its data and the information it uses is outdated.
