First, remove the shell

1. Before disconnecting your Mac Pro, remember to turn off the device from the menu

3, touch the metal shell of Mac Pro release static electricity

Important: You should first release static electricity before touching or replacing any of the Mac Pro parts. In order to avoid electrostatic generation, do not move around the room until the storage is replaced and the enclosure is properly fitted.

4. Unplug all cables from Mac Pro including power cords, and do not replace flash memory when Mac Pro is connected to power

5. Slide the housing latch to the right to remove the chassis shell

Second, remove existing flash

1, flash memory (a) by a T8-type plum screw fixed on the graphics motherboard

2, use T8 screwdriver to remove the plum screw. Be careful not to let the screwdriver touch the rest of the graphics motherboard, otherwise it may cause damage.

3, put the screwdriver in a safe place, you need it later to install the new flash

4, one hand hold the memory on both sides, gently pull it up

5. When the Flash is unplugged, put it away from the graphics motherboard and put it into the electrostatic release (ESD) protection bag.

6. Do not attempt to pull out of the memory until it is completely removed, which may damage the connector

Third, the installation of Flash

1, before installing the new memory, first carefully check the connector. Flash memory corresponds to the fine slots on the motherboard to prevent installation errors

2, determine the direction of the Flash connector, and the slot corresponding

3, keep the flash memory parallel with the graphics board, and then align its connector with the flash memory slot on the motherboard

4, the flash downward pressure down until completely fixed, do not use vigorously. If it is not installed, make sure that the flash is compatible and that it is fully aligned to the lower slot

5, when the Flash is installed in place, the previous T8 type plum screw twist into the original position. Do not allow the screwdriver to contact other parts of the graphics motherboard

Four, close the chassis shell

1, carefully put the shell down into the Mac Pro, pay attention not to touch any circuit board

2, the installation process should pay attention to the gentle, until completely fixed

3. When the chassis is installed, slide the housing latch to the left to lock it.

4. If the latch cannot be moved, confirm that the casing is fixed.

5, can now access the power cord, monitor and other peripherals

6. If the hard drive has not yet established a file system or a bootable operating system, press Command, option, and R to open the network recovery mode. You can initialize and install OS X or recover data with time machine.
