Some applications require multiple connections, such as network games, video conferencing, and more. These applications have difficulty working through NAT (Network address translation). If you want to run an application that requires multiple connections, specify the port number associated with an application in the Trigger Port field, select the protocol type as TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) or UDP (User Data message Protocol), and enter the public port number associated with the firewall trigger port to open the incoming channel. We have defined some well-known applications in the Application Drop-down list.
Name-the name of the application.
Trigger Port-The port used to trigger the application. Can be a port or a series of ports.
Protocol type-the protocol used to trigger the application.
Firewall Port-The WAN port port number that will be used to access the application. You can define one or a series of ports. You can use commas to add multiple ports or port ranges.
Protocol type-the protocol used by the program.
