However, developers still need to test the existing applications to ensure that there are no compatibility issues. If the app supports iPhone 5 or iPod touch (5th generation), the developer needs to provide a 640x1136 pixel image to prove that the app supports a 4 inch Retina display.

IOS 6 is applicable to iPhone 5, iPhone 4 S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, the new iPad, iPad 2, and iPod touch (the fourth and fifth generations ).
