Overview

Currently, the optical access network solution faces a series of technological and business model revolutions and challenges. Changes in user business needs and Industry Integration bring about new competition, traditional Telecom operators use ADSL or LAN access, but with the new business needs, traditional methods are no longer able to meet, and the cost of network transformation is high. As a radio/TV network operator, how to build a new access network, have the ability to carry out multiple services, and have the potential to expand the network, which needs to be carefully considered in current network construction. Only by building a basic network that can meet future multi-business needs can we gain development opportunities in the new market competition environment.

At present, there are two directions for the development of communication networks. One is that the transmission layer shows the development trend of all-optical networks. From the ASON technology on the core layer to the FTTP technology on the access layer, there is no indication that the evolution of network bearer to light; in addition, service integration is based on IP addresses. The development of INTERNET makes IP addresses the most ideal service bearer protocol, MSTP, RPR, MPLS, and other technologies are not the result of mutual reference and integration between traditional transmission networks and packet switching networks. The rapid development of IPTV and VoIP also shows the development direction of IP bearer. The network construction of the access network system should grasp the development trend of technology and market, and select a reasonable technology to build the access network. The optical access network solution provides an optical access network solution based on the EPON technology. The solution uses the EPON technology to implement the FTTH Network, which fully reflects the advantages of Ethernet and IP services, provides three-Play service support. The solution uses shengliya's SALIRA 2000 platform to build an optical fiber access network.

As an emerging access network technology, EPON is very suitable for FTTB/FTTH construction. From the operator's perspective, passive features can reduce construction, management, and operation costs, improve the return on investment and new profit opportunities. The architecture of the EPON network is very consistent with the access network construction, so that operators can quickly and effectively carry out business and facilitate network expansion; the high bandwidth provided by EPON will meet users' increasing network bandwidth application needs, so that operators can carry out multiple services with reliable network resources. The EPON network has good compatibility, it can be well integrated with existing networks. while providing the above advantages, EPON also has the incomparable economics of other FTTx technologies, which can reduce investment and long-term construction costs.

Requirement Description

This time, a data access network is deployed in a residential area to provide data access services at the initial stage. At the same time, it prepares for IPTV. Once the time is ripe, it provides IPTV services to customers and high-quality network services. A total of 248 buildings and 690 residential units are built in seven standard sections in the Community, with a total of 9108 households. There are also several commercial, school, and government buildings. In the initial stage, we will first provide broadband Internet services for users. In the later stage, we will need to carry out IPTV, VoIP and other value-added data services. In the optical access network solution, the household access is mainly considered, and the commercial, school, and government departments will be adjusted according to the actual situation in the future.

The network built in this network can provide sufficient bandwidth to achieve high-quality data access services and IPTV streaming media services. Networks must have excellent scalability and upgrade capabilities to effectively support the three-in-one business needs in the future.

Services supported by the optical fiber access network include:
1. INTERNET access: Provides normal INTERNET access to ensure sufficient bandwidth for browsing pages, uploading and downloading, and other common applications.
2. VoIP: a future-oriented NGN network that provides network telephone services.
3. IPTV/VOD: supports various unicast or multicast video services, including IPTV and VOD services in PC or set-top box mode.

Residential broadband access network solution

This solution will be used for new projects to build residential broadband using SALIRA 2550 OLT and SALIRA 3300 series ONU, the system fully guarantees and comprehensively considers reliability, standard applicability, security, scalability, SLA & QoS, and manageability, this platform is used to effectively implement data access and IP-based voice, data, and video services.

1. Network Topology
A total of 248 buildings and 690 residential units are built in seven standard sections in the Community, with a total of 9108 households. There are also several commercial, school, and government buildings. Due to the large number of residential buildings, this scheme mainly takes into account the access of households. The access problems of businesses, schools, and authorities in the future can be adjusted according to the actual situation.

2. Local OLT configuration Scheme
Considering the large number of users in the residential area, this design uses the SALIRA telecom-level central station device OLT2550, which is a 10U design with a plug-in structure and is planned to be installed in the Central Data Center of the residential area. 28 downstream PON optical ports and 28 upstream GE ports are available in full configuration. The OLT can provide a maximum access capacity of 28 Gbps. This satisfies the needs of broadband access and subsequent IPTV services in the residential area.

3. pon odn Network Solution
The OLT of the Project Center is installed in the residential area. Therefore, the optical splitter is used for one split. The beam splitter should adopt the method of ground burial or the optical fiber transfer box in the residential area, in the installation box of the building, configure the number of fiber cores according to the quantity of ONU3346 configured for the building, and configure two fiber cores for each ONU3346 (1 core for main use and 1 core for backup ). For multi-building buildings, two buildings share one ONU3346, fiber optic to building 1, and Class 5 lines in Building 2 are directly delivered through pipe.

4. ONU Deployment Scheme
In the initial stage of this work, the goal is to provide customers with data access services, and to provide customers with IPTV and IP value-added services in the later stage. In line with practical and economic principles, FTTB is planned to be deployed using Shengli ONU3346, fiber to the building, using wall-mounted head case, built-in ONU3346, ONU3346 out of 5 lines to the user's home. ONU3346 is the 24FE interface user end, which is a high-density economic user end.

5. extended access solution
The EPON system has good scalability. As long as you add Optical Splitter/board devices and other devices for the current network planning of the residential area, you can easily and quickly expand the network, it does not affect existing services. For example, for the optical access network solution, FTTH (fiber-to-household) can be provided to some high-end customers in the residential area) access and quick access to peripheral customers (only optical fiber cables between the optical splitter and the user need to be deployed ). As there are no specific requirements, the optical access network solution book does not design and configure this method for the time being. You can further communicate with each other based on the specific requirements for planning.
