During the installation and configuration of ArcGIS 10.1 for Server, there are two accounts to be configured: one is the operating system Account (ArcGIS Server Account) created for ArcGIS Server ); the first is the primary site administrator account created when the site is created ).
The operating system account is mainly used to manage ArcGIS Server processes, such as starting and stopping the ArcGIS Server Service, reading and writing data on the local file system, and communicating between machines.

Install ArcGIS 10 on Linux:
Install ArcGIS 10_01 on Linux to install Linux Virtual Machine and yum source configuration
Install ArcGIS 10_02 on Linux and Oracle11gR2
Install ArcGIS 10_03 on Linux to install ArcSDE 10
Install ArcGIS 10_04 on Linux to install ArcGIS Server 10
Install ArcGIS 10.1 _ 01 on Linux to install ArcGIS Server 10.1

The primary site administrator account is used to manage various types of GIS Resources in the site, such as publishing, starting, stopping, and deleting various types of GIS services, site security, cluster management, and log management.
The two accounts are easy to confuse for beginners. It is necessary to introduce the differences and associations between the two accounts. In summary, the operating system account is used to run ArcGIS Server, and the primary site administrator account can log on to the management interface for subsequent operations only after the ArcGIS Server is run, therefore, the two accounts can be set separately. You only need to ensure that the operating system account has read and write permissions on the installation directory of ArcGIS Server so that the ArcGIS Server service can be started.
Operating System Account (ArcGIS Server Account)
After installing ArcGIS Server, open the Service Management Interface and find that the login account of the ArcGIS Server Service is the previously configured arcgisserver.
If we delete this account (in computer> Management> System Tools> local users and groups> users), it is unsuccessful to stop the ArcGIS Server Service and restart it, the following dialog box is displayed, because the startup account of ArcGIS Server is no longer available.
If we change to another Logon account, such as Administrator (right-click ArcGIS Server, click Properties, and change it in the logon tab in the Properties dialog box ), then you can restart the ArcGIS Server service. For the sake of security, you should not change the login account of ArcGIS server at will: first, excessive authorization to ArcGIS Server will cause insecure or too small, resulting in running error of ArcGIS Server; first, if it is distributed deployment, the logon accounts of multiple machines on a site are inconsistent.
If you accidentally delete the ArcGIS Server Account, you can use the Configure ArcGIS Server Account tool provided by ArcGIS 10.1 for Server to create an Account or change the password of an existing Account. If multiple ArcGIS Server accounts are created using this tool, different accounts can be used to start the ArcGIS Server service. Pay attention to distributed deployment.
Do not use the operating system tool to create users. We recommend that you use the Configure ArcGIS Server Account tool. This tool ensures that Multiple folders under the installation directory are authorized on different machines (such as bin, framework, Geronimo, usr, and xmlschema ). The corresponding authorization is listed when the ArcGIS Server account is configured with this tool.
