ArcGIS Connects Oracle, Oracle Configuration

Server: Oracle 11g (I am the default path installation, the custom path is not successful, do not know why)

Client: ArcGIS Desktop 10.2, Oracle 11g 32-bit client

Client: ArcGIS Server 10.2, Oracle 11g 64-bit client

1. Oracle 11g is installed on the server, client installs ArcGIS Desktop 10.2 for Oracle 11g 32-bit client, ArcGIS server corresponds to Oracle 11g 64-bit client. If both desktop and server are installed on a single machine, the machine will install both 32-bit and 64-bit clients, and two clients need to be installed in different locations. The reason for this is that the desktop is a 32-bit program, the server is a 64-bit program, and therefore the appropriate client is missing, and the database client configuration error is prompted when connecting to the database (desktop) or publishing the map service (server).

The arcgis10.1 Desktop is 32-bit, and the server is 64-bit. Unlike arcgis10.0, arcgis10.1 's SDE does not automatically prompt for Oracle database connection configuration. With arcgis10.1, create the Enterprise Geodatabase in Oracle to set up the client.

1. Download the 32-bit and 64-bit Oracle in http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/features/instant-client/index-097480.html instance client clients;

2. Unzip the downloaded client and add the paths to the path system variable. Paths are D:\config\oracle\instantclient-basic-nt-11.2.0.4.0\instantclient_11_2, respectively

and D:\config\oracle\instantclient-basic-windows.x64-11.2.0.4.0\instantclient_11_2. Add them to the system variables. (32-bit in front )
